Series 9 - Coming September 19! (And a trailer!)

"The last Will and testament of the Doctor..."

On the first episode. Yeah, right. Why do they do that?

Timey-wimey, I guess.

I'm not impressed by the episode 1 trailer - lots of familiar elements but not really doing anything original and it will almost certainly do something that really annoys me canon-wise.

I was excited at the prospect of a Peep Show episode, but not a found footage one - I have never liked that format.

Apparently there's a line in the first episode where Missy tells Clara the she's known the Doctor since he was a little girl.

Can't wait for the calm and measured response from the internet if it's true...

Which would be rightfully so. We saw the Master as a little boy being brought to the Untempered Schism.

I'll be spending that night watching Gallifrey Base meltdown.

I think it's more that the Doctor was a little girl.

I don't see how this can fly, everything Moffat wrote in The End of Time suggests Hartnell was the first doctor and that a new regeneration cycle is a very rare thing, and certainly not something the Doctor's undergone more than once.

I'm a fan of Moffat but even I'll be annoyed if this is true;always assuming it isn't just Missy(Moffat) fucking with
Clara's (the fans) head :)

This. If Missy were posting on this board, she would be one a master troll!

It would be Missy speaking as (her)self, right? So what's the problem? I don't interpret that as saying the Doctor was a little girl. Unless the actual line is "I've known him since he was a little girl."

Besides, we've already seen the young Doctor in "Listen." He was a male child. So this can't be a true rumor.

I have nothing against a female Doctor in the future. However, having a female Doctor already happening in his past would be a cheap way to get this into the canon. Hopefully this is not the case because the changes it would require in the Doctor's early days would be annoying.

Mr Awe

It's not possible given what we've already been shown in "Listen" just last series. The adults refer to the crying child Doctor as "he" multiple times.

This is either someone trolling the fans, or misinterpreting the line that Missy apparently speaks about herself but instead thinking "ZOMG Missy means TEH DOCTOR WAS A GURL!!!11"

Sounds interesting. Seems like they're setting up a Moffat-y arc. It'll be neat to see the Judoon again. Although they're cheesy, it'll be nice for nostalgia's sake.

About the same response one would give the Joker for saying he's Batman's resurrected father. "Come on. Who you think you foolin'?"

It's Missy. Of course she's trolling.

I'm so excited for the new series to start.even though series 8 was kind of lame, I'm still very excited to see new Doctor Who.

You mean something wrong besides it blatantly contradicting all we know of the Doctor's early years and regenerative cycle up to this point?

Remember, Moffat got away with Warrior only because 1) Nine wouldn't come back and 2) it's John freaking Hurt. Throw a never-hinted-at pre-Hartnell girl incarnation in there - and seriously mean it - and he'll envy late-80's JNT in terms of fan wrath.
