Series 9 - Coming September 19! (And a trailer!)

You mean something wrong besides it blatantly contradicting all we know of the Doctor's early years and regenerative cycle up to this point?

Remember, Moffat got away with Warrior only because 1) Nine wouldn't come back and 2) it's John freaking Hurt. Throw a never-hinted-at pre-Hartnell girl incarnation in there - and seriously mean it - and he'll envy late-80's JNT in terms of fan wrath.

And he'd care what 1% of the audience thinks?

I think Moffat's just trolling his fandom. He seems to get off on doing that.

Seriously, though, after making a big deal out of the fact (that he invented!) that Matt Smith's Doctor was the final incarnation, I can't see Moffat throwing that away with a single line. If it's accurate that Missy said that, then I'd guess that she's just trying to rile Clara.

Apparently there's a line in the first episode where Missy tells Clara the she's known the Doctor since he was a little girl.
That would make Hartnell's Doctor a post-op transsexual. Kind of amusing since Hartnell was known for playing gruff military types.

If true, it's probably a joke by Moffat/Missy.

It's not possible given what we've already been shown in "Listen" just last series. The adults refer to the crying child Doctor as "he" multiple times.

This is either someone trolling the fans, or misinterpreting the line that Missy apparently speaks about herself but instead thinking "ZOMG Missy means TEH DOCTOR WAS A GURL!!!11"

I'm on the side that it could be just some nonsense to distract us from the real spoilers that will come out

This rumor is supposed to come from "The Sun"

Just like RTD, I guess there aren't enough perks when you're the showrunner!

Also allows them to have the suits ready and relevant again for the big Doctor Who concert at Albert Hall they have from time to time with creatures and aliens walking the steps and stage during certain songs.

Get out your Zune, download that tune,
And listen to it whilst shootin' coons.

On a semi-related note, I do wonder if the Valeyard will be addressed during Capaldi's tenure. BEFORE Moffat retconned everything, Smith was still the Eleventh; the Master originally said that the Valeyard came from somewhere between the Doctor's twelfth and final incarnations, and the Moff has referenced the Valeyard, notably in The Name of the Doctor. Granted, there's no real reason to bring back a one-hot kind of character, but Moffat is known to want to explain such things.

I'm actually working through "The Final Adventure" with Colin Baker et. al., which makes me wonder.

The information is from the Master after all. Who knows how many different Doctors the Master has run across in his day.

BBC America have a new trailer with some new clips and what sounds like yet another revamp for the theme music on it.
