Axanar dropped a plot spoiler about a month ago

You mean what age of intern?

(Although for all I know conventions could be swarming with CBS executives, I guess...)

Presumably whatever cash they've raised and not spent is sitting in a high interest account (or should be), which could hopefully reduce additional funding needed down the line?
An insured high interest account here in the US, even a six month CD (they are spending the money, so anything longer would be unreasonable) is under 1%. It will not have any significant effect on funding.

A glance at LIBOR suggests things in the UK and Europe aren't much different.

I just hope they are keeping it somewhere safe.

Under 1%.

More usual is under half a percent. Of even as low as 0.05%.

Half a million dollars gets you $250.

Anyone who is reading the news on Axanar knows that the first "axanar" Kickstarter was explicitly for the soundstage, prepping them for shooting and the sets. They have published what they spend so far:

Nobody making fanfilms, be it with crowdfunding or without, is doing it for the money. There is far too much energy and time going into this that it could be compensated with money. Even when Axanar or Renegades is claiming they pay their people, they surely work on a massively reduced salary.

Was that how they originally pitched said Kickstarter? Or did they move the goalposts?

This is what was originally listed for the lastl Kickstarter. (Budget is what they think the cost is, goal is what they need to cover fees, and perks and such)

Set Construction, Budget $100,000 Goal $125,000
Sound Stage, Budget $125,000 Goal $155,000
Sound Stage Renovation, Budget $50,000 Goal $62,000
Axanar Preproduction, Budget $50,000 Goal $62,000
Axanar Production Costs, Budget $325,000-$425,000

So if we take the high figure from the last kickstarter, we wind up with a production budget of 829K.... keeping in mind that in that kickstarter, they raised 638K, the film mostly should have been funded...... However, they went into this latest Indigogo with only 50K of that 640k in the bank, saying they needed another roughly 1.2 Million

So was the Studio part of the Last Kickstarter, Yes, But it wasn't EXPLICITLY for the sound stage. Their Budget in the Kickstarter was 217K for the soundstage, but expenses turned out to be 360K.... and in their budget, they have construction salaries listed twice.....

Yes, they moved the goalposts from the last kickstarter.

And to be fair, when we pull out, what they listed for Perk costs, that left them with 547.5K, however, as you see, they padded each of their goals to help cover those expenses.

Shouldn't that have been itemized itself and figured into the production budget?

That's hard to do, since the kickstarter/amazon payment processing comes right off the top... they padded each item by 25%which, if you look at the perks cost on their annual report, combined with the fees, it was closer to 15%....

In Axanar's recent press release they raise the issue of Star Trek Continues billing itself as "Official". What is their justification for that? I done some searching and found no answers.

Star Trek Continues, uses "Official" as it pertains to their Facebook account, meaning, that particular Facebook Page is the "Official" Star Trek Continues Facebook page... Nothing more.. nothing less... the comment in Axanar's press release is nothing more than Alec, continuing a petty feud with Vic.... i
