Ivsxy808, that makes a lot of sense. I never thought that Rose could be one of the reasons why he was so reluctant to regenerate.
DWF, that's true and maybe he just looked weird in it. Same with Peter in the purple. But wouldn't the costume designer always make a second current Doctor outfit for the new Doctor to wear? Because every actor is not the same size.

But in the case of clothes when a regeneraton occurs, they wouldn't change size so they likely wouldn't be the right size for the newly regenerated Doctor.
But what if the two actors have really different body types? The clothes have to be somewhat accommodating.
If the accounts are real, when davison regenerated in Colin Baker (5 into 6 in the "original" series), the wardrobe department had to slpit the seams in the back of Davison's coat just so Colin could pull it around in front. While Colin was not really "fat", he had a far more, uh, "fuller" frame than the rather lanky Davison. Of course, with the next transition, Colin to Sylvester, they had the opposite condition, both large body to small and tall to short. McCoy was practically "lost" within Colin's technicolor dream coat.

Oh yeah. I remember someone on here mentioned that. Well luckily there probably (I'm just guessing) hasn't been any major issues like that with Nine, Ten, and Eleven's regenerations.
10 has been getting bigger.

David Tennant wore the same suit for Day Of The Doctor that he wore on the show, he said as much to Billie Piper on thne set.
Except for the first regeneration, where Hartnell and his clothes regenerated in the second Doctor.

So I've gone back to series 1 and picked up where I left off which was the start of Aliens Of London. The Slitheen are stupid. I don't particularly like bathroom humor. I find it gross and immature.

The concept of the Slitheen is fine. Find some way around the farting problem (which is mechanical, not bodily!) and they'd be a contender. It took a few tries to get the Cybermen right in the Classic Series, as I recall.
I just rewatched "Aliens of London"/"World War Three" the other day myself. I've long had a distaste for these as well. But you know, take away the farting and the insipid giggling over the farting, there's actually a pretty good story there. But its true, the juvenile farting stuff really deflates whatever alien-takeover-tension the story tries to build. You get so caught up and distracted by that you actually loose interest in the plot. Whoever thought farting was a good idea really dropped the ball.
That, plus the Slitheen costumes were too cumbersome. Had it been classic Who that wouldn't be an issue; we're used to bad/cheap looking monsters, but NuWho was being held to a higher standard. It was too early in the comeback for such a fumble.
The sad thing is, the Slitheen looked pretty good in the CGI sequences where they are running around 10 Downing St., limber and agile. However, the guys in the costumes were lumbering bulk. The contrast between the two stands out like a sore thumb.

But hang in there Janeway..."Dalek" is next and you'll get your first real taste of the dark side of #9.

I'll say this much for them, they weren't afraid to laugh at themselves. Even they realized how stupid the farting made them.
I actually like the Ferengi, well Quark anyway. After I'm done series 1, I'm going to give DS9 a second try. I stopped in the middle of season 2.

Just to clarify; I have no problem with the Ferengi on DS9 as such. But they way they started on TNG - supposedly a villain replacement for the Klingons but little more than moronic goons - they were a big flop.
