Supernatural: Season 10 (Spoilers!)

The revelation that the Stynes were the Frankensteins totally fell flat for me. My eyes nearly rolled out of my head...it was just so lame.

You. Bastards. Killed. Charlie. Fuckers!

And the show is doing a piss poor job regarding the Mark making Dean worse. Really? Worse Dean seems more like Normal Dean. If he's getting worse it sure isn't showing up on screen.

I'm assuming, from the preview, that Dean will turn Dean-Cain while avenging Charlie's death. I'm very unhappy that Charlie died but not surprised.

So they've killed off beloved characters Bobby, Garth (in effect), now Charlie, and replaced them with ... who? Cas's daughter?

Oh come on.

FRANKENSTEIN!!!!

This means a couple possibilities for Charlie's corpse.

1. They bring her back (without a soul?).

2. They put her reanimated brain into a new body.

3. Bad guys put someone else's bad guy brain into her (upgraded?) body.

4. Charlie is now a living brain in a jar that sits on a shelf and can't do shit.

Or she is simply dead. Though it doesn not mean we will never see her again. Dying on Supernatural doesn't mean much. bobby hung around for quite some time after his demise. As did Kevin.

And she could be completely resurrected. If the brothers feel as much of family-ship as she did for them they will try to save her.
Though, yeah, doubt it. This will be the vehicle for a whole lot of Sam angst about getting her killed.

Well, they probably want to follow-up on the story-line involving Bobby in heaven (given that the angels appeared to be coming to punish him). Charlie could work herself into that story rather easily.

Alternatively, our least favorite witch has already hinted at Charlie's "similarities," so Charlie may play a much darker role (perhaps after being cast-out of heaven for helping Bobby).

That seems to be the biggest weakness this season. They keep talking about all these awful things, but I keep dismissing them as hearsay. What Cain said about Dean living his life in reverse? I shrugged and said "I don't see it," it sounded like villainous monologuing to me, which is never really a reliable source for information. The angst over Dean getting worse? Unjustified, because it don't see it.

I was hoping the Charlie death was a fake-out... because it would be so frickin' ridiculous for them to once again kill one of their very few supporting characters. Sigh.

Also, the Frankenstein family? Ugh.

Charlie dying was dumb enough, but what was even worse is how contrived her death was. She was being hunted by a group of superpowered psychopaths and she sneaks off to a motel because she wants some quiet time? Just get Castiel to buy you some headphones or gag Rowena. What a stupid, stupid death.

Finally saw this episode. The actors are doing what they can with a mediocre script. The highlight for me was definitely Crowley's game of darts - FINALLY he's being funny and evil again!

I haven't seen the next ep preview, so don't know if it confirms Charlie's death, but as things stand she could well still be alive (e.g. used her blood to work a spell, then collapsed in bath from exhaustion).

Issues: The way she handled that knife didn't look like Charlie was preparing to defend herself OR hurt herself. Also, if she's dead, this is another body left lying around despite the Steins' strict policy.

Just watched tonight's episode---really enjoyed that. I love seeing Dean be the total Mark of Cain badass that he is. And CROWLEY---yes! Finally, we get back to understanding just how really powerful he is. I like that.

And Death is back next week! It's sounds odd, but I really like...er...Death. He's a great character and the actor who plays him does a great job with the part.

I thought the Frankensteins would end up being Metatrons doing, like a thoughtform thing created as a distraction.

This raises a rather sticky point, specifically about Cas. Earlier this season, when he was surviving on borrowed grace, he managed to sneak up behind Demon Dean and trap him, with nothing but his hands. Last night, he tried that again, only this time Dean broke the grip seemingly without effort.

Then, although we've seen that angels are (supposedly) invulnerable to harm, we see Cas get beaten and bloodied, despite the fact that he's supposed to be a full-power seraph again.

What am I missing here?

I believe he's played by Julian Richings. Terrific actor and an absolute perfect choice to play Death.

"Nice pickle chips by the way!"

CW President Mark Pedowitz on Supernatural's future:

"Supernatural" heads into that 11th season. "I've said this many time. I'm a big believer in the show. I'm a big fan of the show. I've seen every episode of the show. As long as the ratings hold and the boys want to do it, we're in," Pedowitz said, adding, "We have no intentions of this being its last season." He also repeated that he would, once again, be having conversations with the producers about a possible spinoff.

I was kinda wondering why Cas didn't heal the dead Styne teenage boy. Is he not strong enough yet?

Plus Castiel is lying about the Seraph thing, only having two wings so I wouldn't go by that. And he seems to not be able to truely quantify his own power at times, he could be guessing.

False. Remember Zaccariah in season 5, he was a seraph and only had two wings visible when he was killed.

Remember also that Cas has been a seraph since the end of "Swan Song" (at least, that seems to be the accepted interpretation of "new and improved"), and we've seen his wings three times since then that I can recall: season 6's "The French Mistake" (when he was threatening Raphael), season 8's "A Little Slice of Kevin" (during the confrontation with Crowley), and of course this season in "Book of the Damned." Two, each time.
