Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

Did they miss their mark by a week, or was Age of Ultron not released everywhere in the world at the same time?

"Special advance sneak peek" my ass.

If it bombed internationally in the first weekend, they'd pre-pull it from the theatres in the US before it's official release date?

40,000 empty cinemas could irrevocably tank the American economy.

I liked List's references to Strucker and the twins. But those were hardly a link to AoU. Does Loki's scepter figure into the movie too?

Most definitely yes. Pretty much everything in this episode is a prelude to the events in Age of Ultron.

Hill also knows, and she's working for Stark.
But she keeps secrets for a living.

Which is why I discounted her out of hand. ;)

I have to wonder how that part of their relationship works. Despite Widow's data-dump, I'm sure that Hill knows a lot of stuff about a lot of people, projects and a lot of stuff that that isn't stuff she legally should be repeating to Stark or anyone else, civilian or no.

If Coulson's revival were to come up, I wonder if she would tell Stark that it was too highly classified for her to tell him or simply state that he never asked.

Remember that Hydra (Garret) had to do that whole "Clairvoyant" song and dance to find out how Coulson came back. T.A.H.I.T.I. wasn't in any of the files and Garret had to trick Coulson into leading him right to the front door. Indeed as we're finding out this season, Fury kept a lot of things off the books.

Also remember that SHIELD was highly compartmentalised. Just because some people like Hill, Sitwell and Blake knew he's alive doesn't mean it's general knowledge or even on record. Indeed, in the first episode I think Ward specifically says that the records show that Coulson died in New York, right before Coulson literally stepped out of the shadows.

So I'll have to watch it again, but was that Skye scene one of the coolest we've ever seen on this show?
Easily one of my favorite scenes.

It was very impressive. Single shot, not cuts and it wasn't even her stunt double. Must have taken quite a bit of rehearsal and careful choreography, to say nothing of some very skilful camera work.

That is fricking hilarious. :)

The last 3 or four weeks of (Almost called it earth's Mightiest Heroes) Avenger's Assemble have been quite Ultron heavy.

Children on the school yard (in the real world) are going to be arguing about Ultron, even though one half of them are going to be citing the cartoons as source material and the other half will be citing the new Movie as gospel.

In the cartoon (that I am watching) Stark just said "The Age of Ultron is Over!"

What a pompous twit.

I haven't seen it yet, but-- oh, no, not the Bus. :(

I said a few weeks back that it probably wouldn't make it to season 3. They've been using it and the sets less and less in season 2 and now that they have access to the quinjet set pieces from the movies, it only makes sense they'd retire the Bus. Honestly though, I expected them to make a bigger deal of it. This felt almost casual.

It's like when your girlfriend cheats on you, and then comes back, but it's not the same, so it really doesn't last long at all.

Great episode, that Skye gun-fu scene was AMAZING and more impressive than the Daredevil fight scenes people are raving about.

It makes sense conceptually. When they were a small team, they had a jet that was their base. Now they have more people, a base, and a jet...they don't need a jet that's also a base.

It was kind of nice to see the old Season 1 team back together (and the comments during Ward's briefing were a hoot)...and fitting for an episode that offed the Bus.

Apples and oranges. This was a display of fluid acrobatic combat while the Daredevil stuff was mostly relentless brutality, which is notable since for the most part, the MCU has keep things fairly PG.
The Ward/May slug fest from last season's finale is probably a fairer comparison.

Which begs the question... Who would win in a fight? Daredevil or Skye, and I'll be generous and say Sky is not using her quake power in the first couple of minutes to totally disrupt DD's heightened senses. ;)
It is not that farfetched, they most likely know each other already.

Daredevil cheats.

He can hear his opponents muscles stretching and coiling.

Which gives him as much as a two second advantage sometimes in a fight.

He knows when a punch is coming and where it is going.

Kicks too.

Yes, and even head buts.

Actually?

The stronger and faster his opponent is, the louder and clearer their muscles would sound, the greater his advantage is.

The Blob would kick his ass?

(Wait, I've seen them fight!)
