Broadchurch, Season 2

Captain Dago

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
I'm surprised no one has started a thread on this yet (or did I miss it?). Is it because of the spoiler content?

Meanwhile, does it seem to anyone else that Hardy has gone completely off the reservation? It seems that every case he touches comes apart.

And I'm glad to see that Eve Myles still has healthy cleavage...

It all comes out in the end and Hardy isn't as off the reservation as he seems.

And yes Eve Myles still has it :)

Now to see if they do season 3.

Only seen episode 1 of the new season, but I love it already. I can't wait to see what "Jarvis" is up to, and how the trial will play out.

Starts strong, dips poorly in the middle, but finishes on a series of wonderful emotional beats by the end.

No idea what they will consider for a 3rd series given how interconnected S1/2 are

Just saw the Season 2 finale. Enjoyed it. I still think they're going to pull a reversal on Joe Miller's guilt, i. e., he is really not guilty and is covering for someone, or he did do it but someone else knew something and didn't come forward. I tend to think Ellie's sister may know more than she admits. I think Season 3 will begin with Alec telling the cabbie "Never mind, I'm staying" as he realizes something significant about the case. Sir Rhosis

That was a heck of a way to end it. I thought it would end far more violently than that.

I'm not sure how they can top that for third season, but I'm in!

In other words, the ending of Gracepoint -- Joe didn't do it, he was taking the fall for someone else, and the David Tennant character clearly worked out what he was missing at the end. :)

SPOILERS:

Yes, in Gracepoint, Joe Miller's son, Tom, discovers his dad and Danny meeting at the old building on the hill. Tom gets in an argument with his dad about what is going on between him and Danny, and in anger grabs an oar and swings it at his dad, missing him and hitting and killing Danny. Joe takes the fall for his son, but the final scene shows David Tennant realizing what has happened and he marches off, determined, as the scene fades out.

And to add to that:

Ellie realizes that her son was the actual killer first. And she decides that she's very deliberately not going to do anything with that knowledge because she has to protect her family. In the end, she becomes as corrupted by and consumed with secrets as everyone else in the town.
