Last night's episode wasn't all that bad, more like a mediocre episode during the good seasons of the show. Now it's a good episode of the bad years. I Loved the Castle 'commercial' for his new book though, that was great.

I liked it, I thought it was an interesting episode. I especially liked the idea of using the 3D-printer.
Actually that's a real thing. There's an online service where you can send them a photo of your key and they'll mail you a duplicate. It's no different from taking a wax impression -- as long as you have a clear profile image of the pattern, it can be duplicated.
Why not just go to a store and buy one right then and there for $1.99?
^Because lots of people like to do things online? Anyway, the point is that it is technologically possible, because it actually does happen in real life.
I actually cringed because it was so bad.. not on the level of "so bad it's kinda funny and good again" but just plain bad.

If i were Castle i'd fire the person responsible or get my lawyers on the case.
If you want to make a mock ad at least make it a good one.
As to the episode.. one of the few cases where i actually paid attention and it turns out to be a compelling case. Not bad.

The wedding was ok, the background... not.
Any thoughts on the wedding kiss? I thought it seemed kind of faked/forced somehow...
It might have been due to the way it was shot... but it was a little frustrating.
Turned off the recent episode after few minutes (will go back later when I can stomach it). The whole its a dream thing where everything is different

That was a godawful episode from start to finish. I thought the wedding might make it better, but all I could think about was a) that they're trapped inside the Truman Show dome with that fake sunset (which, btw, would probably be considered a plausible plotline on this show now because it's so ridiculous), and b) where were Esposito, Ryan, Lanie, and Captain Gates? I get that it's a family affair, but they are essentially Beckett's and Castle's extended family, and were invited to the original wedding attempt, so their absence from the wedding felt out of place.
The only way these cliche dream sequence / alternate universe type episodes work is if they're so funny or exciting that it overcomes the fact that the entire story usually adds nothing to the development of the characters and everything returns to the status quo by the end. However, this episode was neither funny or exciting enough to do that, so it just felt like a waste of time.

Sounds like I was right to stop watching a few weeks ago. I didn't make a formal decision to quit, but just haven't felt like bothering with it lately. I knew the episodes would be on demand if I was interested later on, and I've been following this thread to see if the episodes were worth watching, but I haven't heard anything that's made me want to watch again.
Yeah. I think I'm done. i feel like they are doing a farewell tour with every bad idea imaginable. Alternative Universe? Sure, MAYBE, we could say it was actually a dream, but, they kept dissuading us of that idea, so, yeah, I think they actually had Castle fall into an alternative universe.

Meh, I didn't hate it as much as the rest of you. The concept itself was pretty stupid, but Nathan constantly running in when he was told to stay back was a nice throwback to the older seasons, and a few bits were enjoyable.
The background green screen at the wedding was horrible; It would have been more satisfying if they just went to a Justice of the Peace at City Hall instead.
All that said, the preview for next week's episode looks absolutely awful.
