Castle - Season 7 discussion and spoilers

The show is just jumping sharks that are already jumping other sharks. Last night's episode wasn't horrible, like some others recently, but they're instantly forgetable.

See, the Time Travel ep never did fall entirely on the side of Time Travel, and the Wedding episodes is still unresolved so I gave that (and them both) a pass. But HOLY FUCK was this week a shark jump if I EVER saw one.

The show really lost me. And I mean, really lost me. I just don't care anymore, which is a damned shame because I'm totally gay for Nathan Fillion and the straightest I've ever been for Stana Katic, so for the show to lose me like it has is saying something.

I'll stick around until the inevitable real wedding. But if one fucking thing happens again to stop it I'm done.

I didn't mind the episode tbh. Was it award winning? No. But I've seen far worse. At least they came up with a creative way of going about the whole invisible man thing. If they couldn't do that, I would have thrown something at my tv :D. Then it would have reached "Shark jumping" territory.

I'd consider the first episode of the season to be more "Shark jumping" tbh. I don't like any show using memory loss issues as part of a plot (unless it's Alzheimer's or dementia). It just seems cheap imo.

Loved the ending though . Castle thought that Beckett was going to wear the Valentine's day gift... boy did she surprise him ;).

Ever watched Weeds? The middle and later seasons were so bad that in 28 minute episodes the show would jump the shark 3-4 times in just one episode.

So thankfully Castle isn't nearly that bad yet, but that's pretty low standards.

It was plenty of  moments and the ending was just :devil:

However the show pushed its own limits and if this is what to expect from the standalone episodes then Castle needs to finish after this season.

Yea it was nice to see those  moments again. But they need to step it up more so writing wise. They were going a little far with some things, but I'm glad they didn't go any further than they did.

^Yeah, the handheld laser powerful enough to kill was well ahead of the real-world state of the art. Still, it's along the same lines as the borderline sci-fi technology you see in James Bond and other spy films.

So Castle is now science fiction? Well. I guess this opens up a whole bunch of possible story opportunities.

Well, they did pretty much confirm the invention of time travel in the not-too-distant future in that one episode.

I felt like they left that open... you could see it as the guy was crazy, or whatever. I don't remember well enough to be honest. It's all sort of washing over me. I'm caring less and less and I hope this is the last season.

Regardless, I think it is for me.

Yeah the time travel guy could have just been nuts and a laser gun is still more likely than a suit that makes you perfectly invisible.

^No, there was something at the end of the time-travel episode that made it almost impossible to deny the reality of the time travel, though I forget what it was.

He disappeared into thin air and there was a file or something and his birthday was lair than it would have been or something.

I remember that, but there still was a chance he was just a crazy guy. An invisible suit was over the top. But worse than it was how everyone reacted to it, they didn't need clearance to know about it? The government didn't take it, the company did. It was just too stupid.

This week's episode of Bones the FBI showed up in a game development area and the CEO told them to get lost because this is private insider info. So video games are more top secret than a suit that makes you invisible? And it's not like Bones isn't over the top either.

Coffee stain. One of the papers he brought from the future had a coffee stain. Becket had an identical paper, clean. At the end of the episode she spilled her coffee on it, creating a perfectly identical stain.

^ Yep. It wasn't even mildly similar, it was identical in a way that would make Ian Malcolm scream in rage.

Oh, believe me, I'm not defending the anachronistic nature of the cloaking suit, which was ridiculous. I'm just having a bit of fun at the show's expense since it's been pretty out there for a while now. In fact, the future events of the time travel episode sort of fit a future global war scenario from another earlier episode.

Last week they were fighting an invisible Predator, In tonight's episode he's playing Kindergarten Cop. I'm sure Terminator and Twins can't be far behind.

New episode tonight.

Child's Play: 7x04 - Castle goes undercover at an elementary school to find the second-grader who may possess information about the shooting of an ice cream vendor.
