Agents of SHIELD - Season 2 Discussion Threads. (Spoilers Likely)

This was a great episode. It was interesting to see Raina in the losing position. Mockingbird was great, hopefully she stays around for awhile. I'm glad Skye is finally clued into Coulson's situation, I knew it had to happen eventually and I'm glad it was sooner rather than later. Next week's episode looks really good, too. Agents of SHIELD has really come out of the gate strong this season, and I'm loving it.

Perhaps....

Also, does "The Diviner" ring any bells for anyone?

Diviner doesn't show up in any search I could find. But that doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't have another name. That being said, unless it's the Soul stone, I don't think it's an Infinity Stone.

I was reading some of the comments on the IGN review and apparently...

there's an Inhuman character called Mala the Diviner who has the power to hack systems...

The new agent (while of course hot) kinda left me meh until the very end of the episode.

I don't know if it was tongue in cheek or serious when she did that supercliché crouching posing move while flicking back her hair after she dispatched the Hydra guards.. i hope it was tongue in cheek because it was just laughably bad.

Coulson, as always, was awesome.. i love how he destroyed Raina's plan while looking her straight in the eyes which reminds me never to play poker with that man (that is, if i were fictional too). Her reaction was also priceless.. she just couldn't believe that goody Coulson would blow the cover of his own undercover agent (and watching her own smugness and plan go up in flames ).

Mclachlan did a very good job depicting a psycho and i'm curious where this all will lead.

So, does Bessie confirm the existence of vampires in the MCU?;)

I hope that they actually call Morse "Mockingbird". It's consistent with SHIELD having agents codenamed "Black Widow" and "Hawkeye".

In the backstory I made up to fill in the blanks in May's history, I saw SHIELD, thinking they were rewarding her, giving her the code name "The Cavalry" after Bahrain and her hatred of the name comes from her guilt over what happened there.

Wow, great episode.
I thought the intro for Bobbi Morse was great. I've been curious since they announced her character's role if he was going to be a double agent or if she was going to be turned. I thought the reveal of her real loyalties was pretty good. I like the suit for next week.
I love the fact that Coulson finally told Skye everything that's been going on. It was also a nice set up for her search for her father. The stuff with him was pretty cool too. I'm pretty sure the stuff about control was a clue as the who he is. My first thought was another Hulk or Hulk like character, but I don't know if they'd go that route in a story not involving the big green guy.
I'm starting to lean more towards Inhumans now. It would explain why Skye can appear to be completely human, the Kree connection, and would bring them into the MCU, which a lot of people have been expecting. I just stumbled across this character, Maximus the Mad, while looking up Inhumans on Wikipedia, and I could see him as a possibility. He's a schizophrenic genius geneticist, and I could see those traits fitting what we've seen of Skye's father. It says the he was the brother of the Inhuman's king, and spent a lot of time trying to usurp his brother. Maybe he's hiding out on Earth right now either after a failed coup, or while planning it.
I was really glad they brought Simmons back, it'll be very interesting to see what they do with her and Fitz now.
I'm curious where they are going with Raina now.
It's never good when the bad guys start teaming up, so things should get very interesting on that front now.

Just watched it. Wow, that was a good episode. So many great parts in play.

I thought Bobbi was going to be brainwashed, and Shield would have to figure out how to rescue her.

Skye's dad was really cool last night. Great appearance from Kyle MacLachlan!

This can't be true?

Diviner.

Divining Rod.

Cosmic Control Rod.

Nah.

Sorry.

I suspect it's just a macguffin that leads the way to another, even more powerful artefact (almost certainly an infinity stone) is hidden. I mean they just said that the writing is actually a map, no?

Aside from that, we know that Red Skull knew enough to track down one infinity stone, who's to say he wasn't already on the trail of another?

Why is he so frazzled if he is the master villain?

Unless if he is human and conceiving Sky infected him with his "girlfriends" GH alien dna like a sexually transmitted disease 20 years ago?

I don't know who Mockingbird is but I enjoyed seeing "Wonder Woman"'s turn at a badass SHIELD agent. Her height helps to sell it also. I was really caught off-guard at Coulson's play so the whole countdown thing with Raina played out nicely. All-in-all pretty good episode.

Another good episode. Simmons' scream was chilling.

For a second, I thought Skye no longer believed Ward and his truth about her father (especially after she told him to shut up), then she fell right into Raina's trap.

I'm hoping the obilisk contains the terrigen mist, which triggers Skye, Raina, and Coulson's powers (maybe Whitehall's too). Also, I have a feeling Whitehall is a Kree and Skye's father is an Inhuman or vice versa.

Hawkeye's wife.

I'm surprised that Simmons didn't hurt herself when she jumped off the building and landed on the invisible plane. She wasn't prepared to land on anything.

No, but I'm sure she figured there had to be something. She probably thought it was visible rather than invisible, but still. That being said, she did almost slide off, so maybe she wasn't.
