It was more ambiguous than 3 arrows to the gut and falling 10 stories landing on her back.
I read in an interview that if a character who has powers in the comics, I think it was Ray Palmer, got powers in the Arrowverse, he would move over to The Flash. So that makes me think that at this point they only plan on having the more fantastic stuff on The Flash.

Nice seeing Tommy again. What was up with the ransom bit? I missed some of it. Ollie threatened to let him go if a ransom was paid but he was let go anyway. What of the ransom? Seemed like a good way to get some quick cash. And how did that plan get Waller of his back?
Looks like we're going to see Laurel on her way to becoming the Black Canary. She'll no doubt struggle at first and mess things up pretty bad. That'll be a new angle for our latest addition to the team.
I was happy to see Thea training as I expected. I was hoping to see Nanda Parbat though. Next week look like it'll be good.

The plan was to make Tommy believe that Ollie wasn't alive. Instead, some people faked checking his email in order to get someone to arrive they could ransom. Then they pretended the police rescued him (his friend dressed up as a police officer). That's why it ended like that. It got Waller off Ollie's back because it got Tommy to stop looking for him.
Plus, it was a cool callback to season one.

It was as emotional ordeal for Ollie and his friends, more so for Laurel, who couldn't tell her father about Sara.
Going back to Sara's death, I still have trouble grasping how she went down so easily (no pun intended). She was a trained assassin and combatant. Why didn't she see it coming?

Sara spins around looks at him, and exclaims "What are you doing here?"
Then he shoots her three times, and she falls off a building.

I felt the same way. Yes, she recognized the voice, and felt enough surprise that she had to process the killer's presence, but he was obviously already holding a bow, and if he had an arrow ready, or reached for one, I would have expected her to move out of reflex.
Believable that he could have hit her even if she tried to dodge, but I would have expected her to try to dodge. It didn't have to be a long fight scene, just some kind of defensive reaction.
If I was choreographing it, I would have had her raise an arm out of reflex, the first arrow goes through her arm pinning to her chest, then the two other arrows follow. Something like that and at least she doesn't die like a startled deer.
Agreed. The shooter must've been super fast to draw his bow and arrows, or Sara would've reacted accordingly knowing he was about to kill her.
Alternatively, that she didn't expect whoever it was to ever draw on her. We've seen several examples of shocked recognition allowing someone to shoot someone behind the shocked person, as a dramatic tool. Perhaps Sara expected that the killer was going to loose an arrow on someone she couldn't see, and thus let her guard down enough.

Right, but what I was getting at was that she was just facing away. She knew there was no one behind her that the killer might be aiming at.
I know this is a long shot, (no pun intended) but could there have been a separate shooter besides the one who called Sara's attention? It would make sense since the killer wouldn't necessarily be visible to her.
^ The geometry of the situation (when Ollie pointed out where everyone was) suggested that they were actually pretty close and it was right where Sara turned to look. Certainly not conclusive, but that was the strong impression I got.
Plus, where did this other person go? I suppose they could have run away, but, unless they were in collusion with whoever shot Sara, you'd expect them to show up and explain what they saw.
I got the impression that most of these bowmen make their own arrows. Whether they have their own style is harder to say. Certainly, Ollie's arrows look pretty uniform and I'd imagine that most others do too (since it's cheaper for the production budget).
Plus, where did this other person go? I suppose they could have run away, but, unless they were in collusion with whoever shot Sara, you'd expect them to show up and explain what they saw.

Ollie mentioned in the first ep how it was good he could make his own arrows given his impoverished state in the first ep of the season.
Did anyone catch Oliver picked up at the scene where Sarah was killed?
EP was meh for me except for Thea at the end. Routh was good.
Yeah, that's my point. (no pun intended). Someone unknown shot Sara. By comparing arrows from the other shootings they should have known this right off. There never would have been any confusion as to the villian of the week having done it.
Well, my secondary point was, in spite of them being hand-made, there's no indication that they appear any different. In fact, since the show's production staff makes or acquires all the arrows, they appear to be identical from one to the next.
