Arrow - Season 3

Hmmm, Ollie is starting to sound like a broken record with the "I can have a life/can't have a life" schtick. Not even sure what the point was here to have them date for one episode.

So, anyone thinking the new Vertigo drug has split Ollie's personality? Or is someone just going to try and make him think he killed Sarah?

Well it certainly puts another flavor into that great Flash/Arrow crossover scene from last night to know that while it was happening Sarah was being murdered

So I watched a movie called The Scribbler the other day.

The female lead looked like this...

A real whackjob.

OMG "Sarah" :wtf::eek::( after surviving season 2, she dies like that, so fucking brutal. That was a very good opening to season 3 and dam if I have missed this show over the summer. I do have a few things on my mind though...

* Was the villian of the ep a little like scarecrow with the new mixture of Vertigo

* Jesus Christ just let Ollie & Felicity get it on, stop teasing us :scream: Brandon Routh fuck off flirting with Ollie's girl though I did like his character.

* Doesn't Ollie need his company back because no money = how does he fund his operation?

* How stupid was the whole blood all over her face with marks of the attack and then all of a sudden Felicity looked like she just got out out the shower  C'mon writers

And once again NOOOOO SARAH!

Nooooo! Saraaaaaa! :(

Something tells me it's Ra's al Ghul who shot her. Now this could be the beginning of Black Canary for Laurel.

Cheap daytime tv drama. It's sort of like in supernatural how they kept going back to the "you betrayed me, I hate you" schtick.

As in both shows, there are good elements in the writing, it's just that either

1. The writers don't recognize which parts are working for them.
2. The writers don't know how to create drama without teen angst and cliche's.
3. The network execs are complete morons and give the directive to go for the most cliche thing.

I choose to believe it's the latter. It's just some dumb suits sticking their nose in places they don't belong. Because I refuse to believe hacks can make a living writing/creating this sort of IP.

Damn!

I guess I was more focused on being upset about Ray Palmer to be upset about Sara. Unless they are committed to giving Ray shrinking powers, it makes absolutely no sense why they used him and not Ted Kord. Ray is the scientist who excels at white dwarf stars. Ted is the one who ran a company (Kord Industries), for starters. I don't think Ray ran anything, other than his lab at Ivy University.

I can picture Ted hacking into a computer network. Ray would just shrink and do something sub atomically to get the information. Ted also designed a lot of his equipment and I could see Kord Industries putting out smart watches and belt buckle projectors. Again, Ray was a scientist who studied white dwarf stars.

Not to mention that Ray either had Jean Loring or Laethwyn. Ted was the one who was known to flirt (unsuccessfully) with girls. Including Oracle, who at least tolerated his attempts.

So why the Hell are they using Ray Palmer's name, when the character is clearly a version of Ted Kord?

EDIT: I think this explains things a bit.

In one of the behind the scenes thingys they have been releasing, they said that they were not allowed Ted. Ted was forbidden. But then out of nowhere the rep from DC suggested Ray palmer without any prompting, and their minds blew up.

Fricking Edit Ninja!

Lazarus Pitt.

She'll be back in 5 episodes.

Hmmm?

Does Ray already have his powers, or do we have a dipshit origin episode to look forward to?

Lazarus Pitt.

The actress will be back because we'll see the character though flashbacks but can she really come back to life somewhere down the line? I was thinking Lazarus pit too.

I hope she'll be back too...because Caity Lotz is a much better Black Canary then I think Laurel could ever be. (in terms of actress skill as well as backstory -- Sara had serious training to be the warrior she is; what has Laurel had???)

No I think she's dead. There was nothing ambiguous about it. No cut away before she landed/died, no disappearing body, just 3 arrows in the gut and splat. This show doesn't seem like it's going to feature a Lazarus pit. It seems more grounded than to introduce magic.

I'm kind of irritated though. Black Canary is such an important character to Green Arrow. It's like killing off Lois Lane, or Alfred. I know it's an adaptation. But come on, you can tell more interesting stories with Canary alive than you can because of her death.

Sara is a creation of the show. The intention of the producers was always to make Laurel take over as Black Canary. The comic character's full name is Dinah Laurel Lance, just like on the show.

I have never been a big fan of Sara being revealed to be alive. It was clear she would be killed off for real at some point and she is really dead now. Just created attachment to her from fans which would lead to disappointment and division between who liked which sister more. She also had no life beyond being an assassin. Not much future or secret identity setup for her.

The show has done this bait and switch before. With Tommy and Malcolm Merlyn. Also first seeing Slade Wilson's partner in the Deathstroke costume
