Voyager: Displaced
The thought occurs of drawing a parallel between the Nyrians and the Hirogens, though perhaps overblown as the former is never seen or heard from again. While partly supposition, the Nyrians appear to be nomadic like the Hirogen. Their claim of coming from a colony is a cover story for their machinations. This is somewhat buttressed by the crew coming up with a complete zero in locating said colony based on the astronomical information fed to them.
We learn that this strategy is what they have adopted as a effective means of safeguarding their acquisitions. Hmm, do they actually have any possessions, property, or holdings which provenance can be undeniably shown to rest with them? Or is their modus operandi become an end in itself, with everything they claim as their own actually appropriated from others.
Maybe then, two one note cultures to the exclusion of anything else defining about them being developed. One being the Hunters, the other the Collectors.
