They definitely like to cast againt type.
True, after Klingon actors in non-Klingon roles we now get the Eternal Ensign as a successful man and it isn't even in some averted alternate future. They definitely like to cast againt type.
Why would he be playing Harry Kim so many years before he was born?GW isn't playing Harry Kim, he's playing a Klingon.
Considering the story will also have Captain April and new USS Enterprise in it in some way, there have been "suggestions" about using George Kirk. It is doubtful they would be able to get Chris Hemsworth though. He is rather busy these days playing Thor. The few avalible novel sources on both April and Kirk suggest that Commander Kirk was his first officer, or at least his chief security officer when the ship was launched. (It seemingly was also George's suggestion that got the ship named "Enterprise"). Commander would be a promotion over his rank of Lt. Commander on USS Kelvin, though he was First Officer on that ship under Rabau
Speaking of which they might be trying to get Faran Tahir to do Captain Richard Robau again. I believe they mentioned his character during Prelude as one of Admiral Ramirez senior captains. Though I wonder if it was his plan that "wasn't worth spit" according to Captain Samuel Travis.
Also, Prelude was budgeted at $10,000 and they ended up getting $100,000. Does that money roll over into Axanar? If not, where does it go?Me too. I'm a little confused about two things, though:
1. I read they wanted a budget of $650k, but the kickstarter is only targeting $100k. They said: "This first Kickstarter will be for the sound stage and set construction." So, I don't really understand how this is going to work. If stage two fails to meet its kickstarter budget, do the people from phase one get refunded? I'm going to assume not, but what will the rewards for the second round be? Like, if I'm already owed a copy of the film, what's the incentive to kickstart round two?
2. Will the full film be in the same 'style' as the Prelude to Axanar? Like, is the entire kickstarted film going to be talking heads and graphics, or are they actually shooting, like, scenes with actors interacting and doing stuff and shouting orders on bridges with exploding consoles and such?
Great, another Bay Area bwana giving self righteous, sanctimonious, feminazi, condescending lectures to everyone. Even worse, using circular logic to prove their point.I don't need a history lesson here. I understand what the words mean. I also understand that sometimes you use certain types of language to get a point across.
I'm a grown up and can make my own value judgements on whether or not something is appropriate. Thanks.
If, at any point, I believed anything you just said I would have kept my mouth shut. The very fact that you don't find these words to be equivalent to the point that you will type some out fully and not others shows an extreme ignorance of history.
They have said they are trying to get Farin Tahir to play Robau again.
