Fluids are our friend.

Paging Dr. House...Now that I didn't know--that the mere existence of a wound can raise your temperature even without an infection. I wonder if it's the body's attempt at a pre-emptive strike against anything that could get in?
At this point, your guess is as good as anyone's, RJ...
By now I've had a couple intermittent urinary symptoms again, so it looks like I probably still do have the UTI. Plus a wound specialist from the visiting nurses association came to see me today, and she's convinced the wound IS infected. So I have another appointment with the plastic surgeon tomorrow... they may need to open part of the incision back up.
I am so effing tired of this shit!!!!! So very, very tired. Oh, and did I mention that I'm pissed? At everyone and everything.
In that case, I guess "later today." Tell the doctor I said so.At this point, your guess is as good as anyone's, RJ...
I don't blame you. I can imagine how it must wear you down.I am so effing tired of this shit!!!!! So very, very tired. Oh, and did I mention that I'm pissed? At everyone and everything.
So the plastic surgeon is admitting me tomorrow. Get me started on IV antibiotics, do a CT scan, and give them a chance to do a urine culture and resume grating the UTI. O Thursday, she will reopen part of my incision, see exactly what's going on, clean the wound, etc. She reserved the OR for only an hour and a half, so apparently the surgery really will be as short and sweet as she described.
Intellectually, I know that this is exactly what I need to finally get well. But emotionally... yikes! I really don't want to go back in the hospital! And I hate that I have to have anesthesia again.
