My FFH and I stopped by my house briefly the other day to pick up mail, etc. and to see the cats. :-) It was really nice to see them.

I'm so glad you got to visit them. I bet they were happy to see you.

But they would both freak out if someone brought them over here. They were both rescues-- the one I know the most about was thrown out of a moving car on a highway not far from my home -- and very skittish when I first adopted them, but they relaxed enormously over a few years. Until I was raped last year. That kind of undid everything.

That's certainly understandable.

In some ways I would say that you and your cats are fortunate to have each other. Even without the kind of communication humans have with each other, it's probably good for both, to be with other beings that know how life can be sometimes. And sometimes it might be even better, because you can just be. No pressure.
