And...remember there's always something good somewhere..

Brings a tear to my eye...

I hope you settling in nicely. Get better soon!

In the meantime, here's some of the classics to keep you entertained.

My goodness, but this cat knows how to beg...still not as cute of a cat as Meesha, but pretty cute. :)

The transition from the health care facilities to "home" has been extraordinarily difficult. I still need so much more care than the rehab people were willing to acknowledge. My FFH and I are both overwhelmed, I am struggling with depression, and so on. Am working on trying to find some additional resources.

Sorry to hear it is such tough going.

All I can recommend is to take it small steps at a time, literally and figuratively. Break it out into little time bits and deal with...."I can handle this for ten minutes before I freak." Or something along those lines. Even, "let's see how long I can make it today."

And I could be talking out my hinny too.

We are pulling for you. Hang in there.

I will continue praying for your recovery.

Also, here's something cute for you...

Does the hospital have a social worker who can help with that? Does your insurance cover in-home health-care visits? There must be some resources out there somewhere; the trick, of course, is finding them.

All my best, love.

The cat from the earlier video grew up cute.

Which brings up a serious question: can your cats be brought to visit you, wherever you are?

Sorry to hear that you're having a hard time. Hopefully you can get VNA or something. Call your insurance company and see if they provide case management services. My company provides a case manager, who is a nurse, who will find and coordinate all available services; your insurance may do the same.

Thanks for the confined prayers and good wishes, everyone.

Insurance is paying for some (very limited) home health services. In fact, the social worker from VNA is due to arrive in a few minutes. And the insurance company is providing a case manager; I spoke with her for the first time yesterday.

The biggest problem is that with my "plumbing" so messed up, the spinal precautions (no bending, lifting or twisting) still in effect, and the incision in such an awkward (not to mention embarrassing) place... I can't take care of my most basic hygiene needs, like cleaning my own rear, and boy does it need frequent cleaning.

Sorry, I know that was TMI, guys. But that's where I'm at right now.

Most of us (including myself) have had, or will have, major plumbing issues in our lifetime.

At the time I experienced them, it wasn't funny. Now I look back and giggle at some of it. The human body sure has a strange design!

Hang in there, and keep sharing with us what's going on. We care.

You're very welcome. :)

I am also glad they're getting you a case manager. I hope "advocate" is also part of their job description because that would be a wonderful help.

BTW...can your cats be brought to you, for a visit, now that you're not in the rehab facility anymore? Even if they had to be supervised by someone so they don't do their claws on the couch or something (not sure how yours behave in unfamiliar places), I bet that would be nice to see a few familiar faces.

It's good to hear that you have VNA and a case manager. I hope things are getting better for you, even if slowly.

My FFH and I stopped by my house briefly the other day to pick up mail, etc. and to see the cats. :-) It was really nice to see them.

But they would both freak out if someone brought them over here. They were both rescues-- the one I know the most about was thrown out of a moving car on a highway not far from my home -- and very skittish when I first adopted them, but they relaxed enormously over a few years. Until I was raped last year. That kind of undid everything.
