Zachary Quinto vs Chris Pine

Quinto is so fabulous "because" is more than enough reason.
Quinto is good-looking, just not conventionally so. And Chris Pine is equally as good an actor as Quinto; check out Smokin' Aces, which is probably the most "actor-y" thing he's done in his career so far. With leading man looks, he's bound to get cast in unshowy "normal-guy" roles, with the garish character roles to some second banana or minor character.

I disagree, I can't think of anyone who I would prefer in the role. I think Quinto is perfect, he looks so much like Nimoy, he could be his son (Or Grandson), and he plays a Vulcan very well, IMHO.
I think Pine is a decent actor, he's not just a pretty face. But even if one accepts your premise, it shouldn't be assumed that the more talented actor will go further.
Like who? I'm astonished that they found such a perfect match in Quinto. They couldn't have done better if they'd ordered the guy from the Spock Factory.
Agreed. JJ struck gold when he found Quinto and Quinto said yes. He has Nimoy's blessing. You don't just change all that for the sake of another actor.
I think maybe what bothers people is not so much Quinto's casting (seriously, lookswise, who else could play him? Maybe Jim Parson from "The Big Bang Theory"?) so much as where they are going with the character. He's a bit more human this time around. Honestly, watching some of TOS and the movies, I think too much was made about him being Vulcan rather than half-Vulcan, half-human. I understand he grew up on Vulcan and had to embrace the Vulcan way but clearly when Spock decided to committ to Starfleet, there really was some rejection of how he grew up.
Parsons isn't right for Spock. Data maybe.
I think Spock chose his career path carefully. Probably avoiding situations that would place him in contact with Vulcans, which allowed him to play up his Vulcaness among humans. Among Vulcans, even in Starfleet, he would always be the half-breed and looked upon with disdain.
Some Spock's best scenes in TOS are when he drops the Vulcan facade (but rapidly recovers) when faced with things like Kirk being alive.
Yup. T'Pol did the same thing. She got to be uber logical Vulcan on a ship of humans with little effort whereas among her own people she would have been always aware of her flaws, and struggled.
hehe since most trek Nerds nag about Seven of Nine being eye candy im gonna do the same with Pine he is just a pretty hot sexy guy
. Quinto is cute ^O^ and adorable and is more talented,and most likely to succeed.

As far the "will continue...?" category goes I haven't a clue, anything can happen.
Concerning Quinto as Spock, I am quite satisfied. At first I thought his nose was too funny looking but since seeing him as living/breathing/shouting Spock that became a non-issue for me. Besides I haven't seen any other possibility's brought up anywhere. There is Quinto's stand in but can he act? Eh, who cares, Quinto is fine in the role.
