Your SDCC'19 Trek hopes

@Rahul , @ITDUDE , spoiler policy is still in effect for the end of Discovery season 2. While the point being discussed is probably pretty well-known by now, please code your spoilers before I have to.
Lol, seriously? Can it be lifted? Marvel had shorter spoiler policy on Endgame. If someone who frequently visits TrekBBS (ie, a dedicated Trek fan) would already have found a way to have seen Discovery, or if they haven't, they have to understand spoilers are abound. What if PIC trailer mentioned events of Discovery in some way? Or some marketing material mentions something like "Join CBS All-Access, we have you covered in all centuries: Picard in 25th, Discovery
in 28th
, Section 31 in 31st century, Lower Decks in 26th century.."

Yeah, Six Months seems a bit far fetched for this day and age of online streaming.
Especially since CBS is advertising and giving away secrets all over the internetz as well.
(especially on FB)

Perhaps at this point Every Thread should be given a SPOILER attachment, especially with all the new Trek Info coming out over the next few days.

San Diego Comic Con is going to be huge for Trek this year, with Picard, Lower Decks and Discovery season 3 news, and hopefully pictures, trailers, clips and more.

Mundane or outrageous, what's your biggest Trek-related SDCC hope? Mine is that they'll officially announce that live action Starfleet Academy series they were secretly developing a year ago. Smallville/Buffy Trek is the Trek I need most in my life.

Actually, just thinking (because normally I think the spoiler-ban is a pretty good idea - god knows I#m often behind myself!):

@The Old Mixer , might it be useful to put on the whole thread a Spoiler-warning?

I mean, realistically, everything that's going to be debated at Comic Con is going to be either heavily spoiling upcoming shows, or spoiling the previous seasons. I mean, it's utterly impossible to discuss the inevitable trailers for DIS season 3, without spoiling season 2. And since this thread is meant to be a discussion zone for all things Comic Con - wouldn't it make sense to make this a Spoiler-thread?

The spoiler policy is the spoiler policy. All it takes is a little effort to put the items in question in spoiler tags. If this were GTD, you'd already have gotten a Warning over this.

And don't give me What Ifs. When they've actually released something like that, then I'll reconsider.

I could see doing that for the Combined Star Trek SDCC Coverage thread if @ITDUDE would rather have a spoiler tag than a news tag. I'm not sure it's necessary for this one, which is supposed to be the speculation thread. Spoilery discussion of actual SDCC announcements should go in the other thread.

I understand that in theory this shouldn't be necessary. But in reality, I think - at least for this week-end of Comic Con - EVERY Comic Con thread will be a Spoiler-thread. People will get excited, and want to talk about everything, and with multiple threads covering only slightly different topics of Comic Con - I can predict at least a few people will occasionally forget wich thread they're exactly posting in in the heat of the discussion.

I requested the combined thread to have a spoiler tag because rules are rules
