Your SDCC'19 Trek hopes

Season 5 of Enterprise, is finally happening and will cover the Romulan War and Birth of the Federation.

Apparently it's now being made in a warehouse in Canada, with some guy called Al Vinci in charge.

Season 5 under Manny Cotto would have been very cool :)

There was no guarantee the Refit would have showed up in the hypothetical Season 5, Drexler submitted the idea IIRC but there was never a confirmation before the cancellation.

Since we're talking hypotheticals, i'd like to think that it would have.

I'm really hoping for a Pike/Spock/Number One 5-year adventure, but I'm not holding my breath...
Maybe the'll save it for STLV19, fingers crossed!

If I were Fred Archer...
  1. Discovery is canceled and is considered non-canon because I can't accept change
  2. Picard brings back the entire main TNG cast and they come onto the Enterprise-Q and gets rid of the new characters because I can't accept change
  3. Enterprise season 5 because I can't accept change
  4. Lower Decks, Section 31, Pike, and any other new ideas are replaced with a Captain Worf series because I can't accept change
  5. Voyager/DS9/TNG miniseries where they face the end of the universe because I can't accept change
Oh wait, I'm not Fred Archer! I just would love to see a Pike miniseries announcement... that'd be pretty cool.

I imagine they'll save something like that for Star Trek Las Vegas. Comic-Con is just for Picard, Lower Decks and Discovery

And the Enterprise-Q is actually Q! Computer voice by John DeLancie. Every order by JLP is met with varying degrees of sass and sarcasm, a la KITT from Knight Rider.

  1. The Picard show turning out to be really good.
  2. DIS season 3 not doing something completely stupid with the future of the Trek universe (aka, Earth is destroyed and the Federation exctinct and needs to be re-build by Burnham) that would render the Picard show meaningless as a prequel
  3. In fact: DIS actually returning to the 23rd century (as depicted in early season 2), and the future just being a single-adventure two-parter. And continue to getting that era right! They were so damn close! Why abandon that and classify that. Argh.
  4. An Anson Mount/Cpt. Pike-mini-series (three-parter or something), including former DIS characters
  5. Michelle Yeoh confirming she's playing a completely different character on the S31 show/the S31 show getting a complete re-vamp before being poduced
  6. The Lower Decks show turnint out to be honest-to-god SF
  7. CBS and Paramount announcing they will work together in the future for the Star Trek universe
  8. Another life-action series in the post-TNG era being announced

1 - definite possibility
2 - let's hope for the best, which for Discovery is "just a little bit stupid", but you better believe something will be wrong, and Boringham will definitely be involved in fixing it. They don't know any better.
3 - I don't think they are going back to 23rd century. Writers closed that century for Discovery, the finally "synced" canon. Whenever/wherever Discovery ends up, it's not going to be in 23rd century.
4 - Yes, would be nice.
5 - I think Section 31 was announced specifically because of her being this "evil dictator who kicks ass and sometimes is good" character. If she's playing someone else, it loses a lot of it's purpose.
6 - It's a half hour animated sitcom, that's what I understand it to be. It maybe SF, we shall see
7 - No announcements with Paramount until whole CBS/Viacom thing is finalized
8 - I doubt it. They already have a lot of Trek announced and not close to being released. At certain point you have to see how existing things play out, before committing more resources to future projects. It would be nice if they announced it, but I'm not holding my breath.

When is the Trek session happening at SDCC, anyway? I can't seem to find it on the schedule of events.

@Rahul , @ITDUDE , spoiler policy is still in effect for the end of Discovery season 2. While the point being discussed is probably pretty well-known by now, please code your spoilers before I have to.
