I had a 'chicken & bacon' (closest thing to a real club you're likely to get in this town) from the bakers today -pretty good if just they would just stop making them with those very sweet buns

I picked up the old Signet editions of Casino Royale, Doctor No, and From Russia With Love (none of which I previously had) at the used bookstore yesterday. I also managed to find copies of the John Gardner novel Scorpius and the his novelization of Licence To Kill.
I got some replacement earbuds for my iPhone and an armband so I can go running with my phone.
A succulent, fully ripe, yellow flesh nectarine truly is the food of the gods. Probably my favourite fruit.
Today I received a book "The Hidden Treasures of Timbuktu: Historic City of Islamic Africa" by John O Hunwick.
It is a beautiful book, better than I thought it would be, with lovely photos of the people, buildings and ancient manuscripts/books of the city. It cost me $AUD29.13 (with free postage) through the US branch of Book Depository. If I had bought in in Australia it would have cost me more than $60.
