^ WHOA! How'd that happen? ON ebay?

Nope. Just good old fashioned bargain hunting, and the fact that DVDs are cheaper than ever! :D
I bought it used, and there was a stack of other DVDs there for a penny each as well, but they were all junk.

AWESOME!

I also bought three books: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Stieg Larsson), and London: A Novel and New York: A Novel, both by Edward Rutherfurd.

Would love to hear what you think of ...Dragon Tattoo ...after you read it. I have to be honest, i didn't like it at all and am still trying to figure out why everyone loves that book.

I bought this beautiful, warm, soft, navy blue Henley from Abercrombie & Fitch today.
I seriously need to stay as far away from that store as possible, it'll be my downfall. :shifty:

Yes. Visit too often, and one dies from too much perfume & cologne fumes. ;)

That's nothing! try just walking by a Hollister. You can smell the cologne from 5 stores down!

Before i had kidney surgery a few years ago i stocked up on a whole bunch of new DVDs to watch while i was laid up. And most of the ones i purchased were movies from my childhood...comfort food in a sense. I bought the Beatles' "Help" and "A Hard Day's Night", "The Trouble with Angels" (Hayley Mills!), "Cat Ballou", "Charade" and a couple of others. There's nothing like old movies to watch when you're convalescing! And of course, i watched all the Trek movies too......
I ADORE The Trouble with Angels. It is a beautiful movie. If you're a Hayley Mills fan/fanatic, you should find The Chalk Garden and watch it. She stars opposite Dame Wendy Hiller, Deborah Kerr, and her father John Mills. It's creepy and atmospheric, and not at all like the roles she usually played at that age. The sets, the locations, the music, the costumes - it's all just wondermous. :techman:

Sakrysta, OMG, i can't believe anyone else even KNOWS "The Trouble With Angels!!!" That is so cool! I'm surprised you are even familiar with Hayley Mills, being that you are so young!

Thanks for the recommendation on The Chalk Garden. I will definitely look for it today when i head back over to the library. :bolian:

I'll be 35 next month - thank you for calling me young! ;) I fell in love with Hayley Mills watching The Parent Trap on the Disney Channel's free preview weekends. I love almost every movie I've seen her in. (I'll leave Pollyanna off that list, mainly because it's a rather bad adaptation of the book. But she was cute in it.)

The Trouble with Angels is a "joy to my heart" movie. Just so heartwarming, filled with the exuberance of youth and the pain of developing maturity. I love watching the girls grow and sharing in their friendship. I love watching Mary gradually learn to reach beyond herself to the life of "something better" the Reverend Mother walks before her every day. And I ADORE the fashions we get glimpses of! The dress Mother Superior makes for Rachel's dress contest is just the SWEETEST thing! And Mary's dress in the last scene - oh wow, so much a product of its era... I will stop now. I just love every single thing about this movie.

The Chalk Garden just oozes atmosphere. It's a mystery with a wildly ambitious score and glorious location filming. And again, the costumes and sets just send me over the moon. I wonder how women - or even movie hairdressers - managed to sculpt such perfect masterpieces of hair. I'm so jealous! Anyway, unless your library has an amazing collection, I kinda doubt you'll find the movie there - it's rather obscure. It's not even available on Netflix, and they seem to have almost everything.

I bought me a delicious espresso yesterday, at a little place in Camden Market, obviously run by Italians. :D

^That's a tasty-looking lunch.

I bought a new BiPAP machine yesterday, to treat my sleep apnea.

It's like a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine, except, instead of supplying continuous pressure, it senses when you're trying to exhale, and reduces the pressure to make it easier.
