As anyone who's seen my posts around here recently might realise, I am moving to the States as soon as the US Embassy send my approved visa back to me (cue cursing), and my fiancée has just moved all of our stuff into a nice new house (whoo hoo!!!) and so I haven't been able to talk to her on the web cam much this week.

I spoke to her this evening and she has brought the DVD that I was going to buy as soon as I was able. Not my purchase, but as good as.

And the best thing, she doesn't even like Star Trek (yet!!!) and she still bought it for me

^ That's a good woman there. Hold on to that one. :D

Today I bought 3 vintage silk scarves, a pair of green amber earrings, and a classic Scottish plaid shirt with sky blue collar and cuffs.

I actually went shopping on Black Friday! It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. I bought some beads and clear glass ornaments (to fill with beads or other small things) at Michaels- had a run-in with some bad customer service, but a much nicer employee made up for it later. Then I went to a Hallmark store and bought three ornaments- the Star Trek phaser, a 50th annivesary Barbie, and the Galaga arcade game. Then I hit Belk's and found a cute Christmas purse.

You bought an out of shape white guy?

;)

What? He is not. I think he is adorable.

And Squigg's don't let Snidley Whiplash there make you feel sad. I will make you a nice big bucket of chicken nuggets and make it all better. But I get to play with the tv. Call it an even trade. (I am such a cheap date.)

As for my purchases... I didn't buy anything today. And the media will no doubt make me feel guilty about it too. I am sure on Monday I will be a bastard for not "helping the economy" and "unAmerican". But I would rather be stripped naked and shot out of a cannon while on fire than to have ventured out into the hell they call "Black Friday".

Let's see, today I bought:

  • laundry detergent
  • a book of Carl Sandburg's poetry
  • an interesting wooden charm box that is a puzzle to open and has a frog (it's hard to explain)
  • lunch at Arby's
  • a glass blown Christmas tree ornament
  • a wire angel decorative thingy
  • a Christmas table runner
  • a snowflake stencil
  • snowflake confetti
I didn't go near the Black Friday crowds. I did hit Hobby Lobby about 7 tonight, but that was mainly me bing antsy, not determined to get any deals.

I bought this last week, but it came today (after some wonderful UPS shenanigans)

  • 4gb (2x2gb) of PC8500 DDR2 RAM
  • External 500gb HDD
  • 16gb SD card
  • Windows 7 Upgrade
Now back to trying to decide between the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8. Or buying nothing, but that's no fun! :p

I've bought a Marshall amplifier! The sound it produces makes me believe I can play the guitar pretty well!

My first Lego set in years:

Now i need to find some kind of container to hold the parts in...

Also the new John Mayer CD and The Best Of Don Henley...

Now these all sound really fun.

I haven't played with lego since I was a kid, apart from one SW set about 10 years ago, but that does look awesome.

I bought some high-end suits to resell. Figured I could use a little extra pocket money with some other stuff coming up to pay for soon.

Penicillin. Woot!

Did it come with free diarrhea? =)

That's only if you're allergic.

The sets are cool, but I think there's nothing better than a big bucket of lego bricks and your imagination.

I bought a new battery for my truck today, I got about $20 off since the old battery was still under warranty and I got a pro-rated amount. :D
