  • Some "I forgot" groceries
  • some bath products (Aveeno)
  • jean bermuda shorts
  • a new bathing suit (two piece tankini, brown with red trim)
  • a new clothes horse (to put my clothes outside to dry, the old one was rusted)
  • some cleaning products
Now I just have to clean!

This dress from Ebay. I just need shoes, jewellery and some type of cardi type thing to go with it!

Also, some turquoise flipflops from Primark for 98p, DS9 Season 6 on DVD and Tropic Thunder on DVD.

I bought a cream tea, and got free vintage Taittinger Millesime in return later. Not a bad bargain, I think - turning tea into champagne is a miracle even Jesus couldn't manage. :D

(the Taittinger was drunk a bit too young though; it was a 2003. Still interesting but too green for my tastes, with a vegetal note that I think would fade a bit with a few more years in the bottle.)

I had a pricey weekend:

1) massage
2) facial
3) Irish wool throw for mom's birthday
4) 2 Sid Dickens art tiles to add to my collection
5) kayak rental for me and my little sister
6) 2 pairs of shorts
7) 2 lightweight hoodies

Yeah, I'm done for a while!

^ Yep, they look fab. Good price for what look like Goodyear-welted, channeled soled boots with good leather, too. Nice one!

I actually got a better deal than listed as I went to the local western superstore. One of the upsides of living in Nebraska is easy access to top of the line Western stuff.

^ Tell me about it, I had to do that too this month. My car is now 4 years old and I'm still paying almost 1000€ (990€). :borg:

^ Mine's three years old now. The thing is, the insurance doesn't actually go down with age here. With the exception of the 5% bonus you get every year if you don't cause any crashes.

I'm curious, what do you get for those 1000€?

Here's how it is here (for my car at least):
- mandatory insurance which covers costs if you cause an accident - 600€
- extra insurance which covers all my costs in pretty much any situation, from my car getting stolen, to me screwing up and totaling my car, to someone slashing my tires or clipping my car - 850€

You get some extra options so you can lower the price of the extra insurance, but then certain things aren't covered.

Jesus that's expensive..

I pay only about 400€ a year, have one "free" crash per year (i.e. i can cause damage once per year without my premium going up) and some other small benefits.

Having to pay nearly 1500€ annually would mean i barely could afford my car with all my other expenses (and fuel is quite expensive.. it cracked the 1,30€ per litre mark some time ago and i have to drive a lot).

Most recent buy? A ham & cheese baguette sandwich which was so so.. the bakery here has some sandwich baguettes here they call Bombay.. a mild Curry sauce mixed with pieces of meat and inside a fresh baguette.. it's to die for

Last week was major purchase time though.. several hobby related stuff (miniatures, supplies for modelling scenery etc) which cost me about 200 Euro and i re-bought my digital camera used off Ebay when my original camera decided to meet the pavement from about 1,5m height. Got it quite cheap and its a good digital camera.. don't need a new one for thrice the price and a few improvements for which i have no need.
