Jesus that's expensive..

I pay only about 400€ a year, have one "free" crash per year (i.e. i can cause damage once per year without my premium going up) and some other small benefits.

Having to pay nearly 1500€ annually would mean i barely could afford my car with all my other expenses (and fuel is quite expensive.. it cracked the 1,30€ per litre mark some time ago and i have to drive a lot).
I'm curious, what kind of a car (including engine specs) do you drive?

I just bought the Canon Vixia HF100 HD camcorder. Sadly I will have to wait until the end of July to actually see it as it was delivered to my Mother's house back in Canada.

An 1999 Opel Vectra with about 100hp engine. I might add that i am down to 45% with my insurance but still.. if i had to start at 125%, which is the usual for drivers who just goth their car and never had insurance, it still would only get to a little over 1000 a year.. maybe 1200.

^ I get 20% off my insurance (the way you get 45% off) at the moment. Though like I said, basic insurance for my car (VW Eos 2.0FSI with 150HP) is about 600€.

Misunderstood me.. i have 45% of the usual 100% fee (i.e. full price for beginners), i pay less than half.

If basic insurance is about 600 than where do the other 950 Euro come from?

And btw.. i hail from Bosnia and am surprised that prices in Slovenia can be that high.. i know Slovenia was the wealthiest state in ex-Yugoslavia but still.. how are the prices, wages and living conditions now as opposed to those in "standard" western EU countries?

^ Gotcha, so you get 55% of your fee. Nice. ;)

The other 950€ is for what we call kasko insurance (not sure if you're familiar with the term). It's basically optional insurance where the insurance company covers the costs if your car gets stolen, if you cause a crash, if someone clips your car in the parking lot, if someone breaks in, slashes your tires, or if for instance your car gets damaged in a hailstorm.

The basic insurance (the 600€ one) only covers the cost of repair of other cars in case you cause an accident.

This morning I got my latte at Barnes and Noble. I also walked out with a Father's Day card and "The Devil in the White City".

^Aw, I'll live. I'm not even near my record. A couple of years ago I went 7 full days without sleeping! I'm on 3 now, but am actually feeling like tonight might be the night.

^ Damn that's rough. I guess I really should stop complaining if it takes me a couple of hours to fall asleep.

Well, good luck.
