I didn't purchase this, but my roommate got it for me and I'm really happy about it. It's a block mounted poster for the film Le Déclin de l'empire américain. It's the same artwork as on this dvd cover (maybe NSFW).

No more nsfw than (@Y@) or 8----->.

Well, I didn't think so (it is from the commercial poster and retail dvd cover, after all), but I figured it was better to be safe than sorry.

The hat ships open crown (first picture below), so I had to "bash" it to add the center dent and side pinches. This was done by hand, with a bit of steam to help add the downward sweep to the front of the brim. I decided to go for a shape that's a mixture of Indiana Jones and my own personal style. :)

Nice job; it's tricky to properly block hats, as I understand these things, and this looks great!

So, the Indy outfit must be nearly complete now? The whip, the hat...

This board does have funny puritan american sensibilities in it's upper management, so I don't blame you.

The roguish charm...

Oddly enough, it wasn't my initial purpose to make an Indy outfit, but at some later point I had an epiphany and decided what the heck. Individually, each piece serves another function, so it's not totally frivolous. ;)

I bought the Tripods trilogy books and a game called Wild Planet HyperDash for my nephew's upcoming birthday.

I've been spending like MAD on Amazon lately. I think I should get their credit card and close the other crappy credit card I have. I only got that one because it has the Enterprise on it. Yes, I am THAT big a nerd.

From MBNA? I had that card, and apart from the image, it is indeed pretty crappy--no perks, dammit! ;) That said, if you open a new CC account, you'll probably find that they're more stingy with your initial credit limit. I got a new card during the summer and the limit was about 1/4 what I had been used to getting over the previous years.

Ah. That's a real possibility. However, I have EXCELLENT credit ,and we never charge more than $500 a month anyway.

But then I will have to change all my recurring payments. What a pain. Still, might be worth it. I will have to ponder on it some, I guess.

pizza burger well done
diet coke fries water tip for waiter.

wait!! - ten bucks for gas for the person that drove me to that dinner., they wanted smokes but I was uncomfortable giving them a pack o smokes so I bought them gas...,,

I think they're just more stingy across the board given the economy. My credit score is in the mid-700s and I got a crappy $2500. It was Discover, though...

You say frivolous like it's a bad thing?

I bought the soul of God but then gave it back cause it was .., how can I say this ..,? well that just it I can't but I will yep the soul of God was dead, Dead as a door nail and I wanted my monies back asap pronto immediately now.

Well, my mom's Christmas present came today.
Here's the Konica Minolta SLR 35mm camera I mentioned several pages back:

Camera Box Outside
The box was still sealed. I opened it only to inspect the camera itself.

Camera Box Inside
This is when you open the box and the two boxes inside that contain the camera (left) and the lens (right). As you can see, it came with the strap, documentation and warranty card, which I will send in.

The Camera
This is the camera without the lens. I don't have pics of the lens because it was still sealed in it's original wrapping and didn't want to risk dust and finger smudges just to get a shot.

I am really pleased with it, and even though the rep over the phone said that it was a used demo model, everything looks brand new and untouched. I think I got a great deal on it now that I can see it. I also picked up a camera bag, two rolls of FujiFilm Xtra+, and a set of CR2 batteries. All packed in a Santa Claus gift bag. :D

That's awesome, and it's made even more so by the fact that I didn't know you could still get brand-new 35mm slr's. :techman:

Yep! I doubt they manufacture them anymore, though. I got this one because it was a demo model on display, and they were closing out the 35mm SLRs in favor of the digital SLRs. In other words, I lucked out. Even the cheapest ones on eBay are at least this expensive (the Buy It Nows anyway), and they've been quite heavily used. So I got a great deal here.
