... if you want to go right bank then I'd go for a 2003 - very ripe, very opulent and will marry well with the malange of meats that generally end up on the table at Christmas.
This would have been exactly my default choice!

However, off the top of my head... possibly something Spanish with little or no oak. Ohh... yeah, something from Bierzo would do it. Mencia is such a fabulously ripe grape variety, but with a twang of charred meat and herbiness (possibly a riper version of Cab Franc??). The freshness and ripeness will enliven the turkey (and help out the cranberry sauce), the grassiness go with herbs/veggies, and the meatyness go with any stronger meat you put onto the table. Go to Waitrose, they have one in their "fine wine section" for about a £10. Can't remember what it's called off the top of my head though... a wonderful intro to the style, and if you like it then hunt around for something with a bit of age.
It was in fact the best supermarket wine I've had in an age and worth more than the £10.
You're a star - I'll try to check out Waitrose this Friday!

Even if it's not for Christmas, for just a tenner it's worth trying.
