    Some books...A first-edition copy of "We Seven" by the Mercury astronauts, along with Deke Slayton's autobiography titled "Deke," along with "Moonshot" by Deke Slayton and Alan Shepard, Neil Armstrong's official biography, and Michael Collins' autobiography. Yep, I'm on an astronaut kick right now.

    I spent about $24 on both soundtracks for LOST's final season and then paid my car insurance bill.

    Not much today - just a few groceries. Was going to buy a few more basic clothes, but didn't have time in the end.

    And after seeing a commercial for it yesterday that hit all the right nostalgic notes, I couldn't resist buying a can of Heinz Tomato Soup for lunch, with some bread. The taste is really quite unique, and always takes me back to childhood. Must be all those E numbers. :D

    Just bought replacement vinyl windows throughout my house, including my large picture window. We had to do this since our windows are so damn old. In this picture you can see how I went through all the trouble to panel the wall but I'm still left with the ugly relic of a crap window ruining everything. We have a great neighbor who works at Lowes who we went through the process with today. Used my veteran's discount so 10% off plus we get the tax credit for the upgrade. We hope to have them installed in the next month :)

    Groceries at the weekend, clothes for the wife, and season 6 of NCIS on DVD. Now we just need seasons 5 and 7.

    I just ordered two books

    1) Bad Ground: Inside the Beaconsfield Mine Disaster by Tony Wright

    A bit of Tasmaniana that has been on my wish list for a while

    2) The Last Speakers by K David Harrison

    The author goes to various places to meet the last speakers of some of the world's endangered languages.

    HAH! Good work!

    I picked up 4 dvds for $32 today: Polanski’s Macbeth; Macbeth with Ian McKellen/Judi Dench; 1776 (always liked it); and Logan’s Run (Hubby likes the Jenny Agutter changing-clothes scene, for all it’s 2 seconds).

    Ordered it off Amazon--best price we found.

    Bad part: Hubby is buying more stuff on Amazon than he ever has;

    Good part: Fortunately, minor things at good prices. He taught me how to shop for good prices.

    Bought a few more basic items of clothing, but also ordered a pair of chocolate-brown suede chukka boots as my size wasn't in stock. I've been needing a new pair of casual boots for a while, to replace a pair of zippered ankle boots that have seen better days. Looking forward to getting them; hope the order doesn't take too long!
