I know what you mean. Like the girls that have jackets that are way too shourt and half of their belly peeks at you - while it's snowing. I really don't get it.

A new frying pan. I'm pathetic, I know...

I got season 1 and 2 of Mad Men on Blu-ray today. I've never seen the show before, but the set was so cheap I thought I'd give the show a shot.

Just some basics - socks, underwear, dark grey fitted T for autumn layering (need to find a navy one too), plus a pretty cool on-trend slim plaid shirt with some military details.

I bought several things

1. OSPREY Exos 58 Backpack. I want a good multiday pack.

2. Platypus Big Zip hydration system. I'm giving this a try because I'm tired of having to stop and open my nalgene to drink. This way, I can just drink from the attached hose. Neat!

3. Anti-shock trekking poles. Gotta save my knees

I do need another hat, but I'll wait until later before deciding on one.

Beauty and the Beast on Blu-Ray

Dollhouse Season 2 on DVD (I would have gotten it on Blu-Ray, but I already have Season 1 on DVD, and I want them to match)

Caprica on DVD (frickin Best Buy didn't have the Blu-Ray, and I'm too impatient to wait for them to get it in stock).

Oh, and a drink from Starbucks.

I also bought some canvasses, an avocado, and pink flowers for my roommate's birthday.

An avocado is an interesting choice of birthday present.

Been quite busy this week, so decided to treat myself to a little bit more shopping:

The silk squares are from Ralph Lauren, the grey cashmere v-neck is from Pringle.

Yesterday I received my mum's (very very early) Christmas gift.

Since my desktop was severely lagging behind and I was tired of throwing money out to keep its specs up to date, I decided to join the 21st century and get a "desktop buster" laptop.

It's an Acer TimelineX 4820TG:

Intel Core i5
4Gb RAM
Dedicated ATI Radeon HD 5470 graphics card
B/g/n WiFi
500 Gb HDD
Integrated 1.3Mp webcam
Dolby Home Theatre Virtual Surround
14" HD LED backlit LCD screen

It also has a whopping 10 hours of battery life.
I still wanted it to be portable, it's quite thin and it only weighs 2Kg.

I love the brushed black aluminium cover, it's so much nicer than plastic. :techman:
And now I don't want to have to buy a new pc of any kind for another ten years. :D

I will however change the HDD to a SSD as soon as the prices come down a bit. Right now I'd love to, but they are still ridiculously expensive.

Nice laptop Niorah. :)

Did a little grocery shopping. Decided on buying myself a cheesecake and an avocado. Gonna enjoy one of them now.

Enemies & Allies (paperback) by Kevin J. Anderson. It's about Superman and Batman's first meeting in the 1950's.

Cool.

I'm thinking about getting a new laptop at some point either later this year or next, partly because now that I have a bit more free time I want to play one or two recent games that I can't on my current 5-ish year old laptop (it was not far off top-of-the-line 5 years ago, but is obviously showing its age now), so I've been looking around recently.

Yours has a two graphics cards I think, letting it switch between them depending on whether you're on mains power or battery. That's why you can get such good battery life from it.

I tend to prefer desktop-replacement laptops like yours too. I've got half an eye on this one but I might wait a little longer for it to come down in price a bit. Maybe after Christmas.
