Your latest purchases, cont.

I had two Coldwater Creek coupons--each giving me 40% one item. So I went back today and picked up two things I really wanted:

This green cowlneck:

and this chocolate brown cardigan:

Three more action figures at the toy shop along with a quick stop by a restaurant for some takeout lunch.

Had a bit of downtime this afternoon, so initially went window-shopping and then ended up buying a navy cashmere overcoat from Zegna.

I've been meaning to get a new navy coat for a couple of years or so but couldn't find exactly what I wanted, largely because I tried looking during the end of the season sales and so never found something in exactly the size & style I wanted. This time I happened to stumble upon some new season stock just as it arrived. It was a bit more expensive than ideal but at least I've got exactly what I wanted. Probably will wait until the autumn to get the few minor alterations it needs though. No point getting those done in the middle of Summer! :D

^Looks a bit like one of the many hats that Angel wears in Dexter :D good choice.

I bought some cranberry juice on the way home from the gym.

I bought a Panama hat. It's a bit too hot here for felt hats at the moment.

Yeah, I guess even Indy can't wear a felt hat all the time! ;)

I was wearing one of my Panamas today too. They're a very easy hat to wear, especially once they get a bit battered with age. I have a knockabout one that's been in several tropical oceans and is now showing a lovely bit of wear & tear. Though I also have a smarter-looking one like yours that can be worn with those kind of looks.

I finally caved in and decided to upgrade from regular broadband to fibre optic. It's a FTTC connection and they've quoted me 71.4Mb download for my specific line, so I'm hoping it gets at least somewhere close to that. Mind you that would be about 20 times faster than my current connection, so even half that would be big difference! It only ended up being an extra £3-ish a month so hopefully it'll be a worthwhile purchase. Won't be installed until towards the end of the month, but I suppose I'm used to waiting when it comes to internet, so... ;)

Some takeout lunch a few hours ago.

Too hot to be cooking recently?

(I noticed you've been buying a lot of take-out/delivery food in the last few days or so)

I get that way in summer sometimes; salads, cold meats, ice creams, quick & easy things basically rather than doing much actual cooking.

Just been feeling pretty run down lately and not up to slaving over an oven every day. It's probably a lot more unhealthy, but I just prefer to run out for something instead when I feel like that. The heat and humidity play a part in it to be sure (it's been brutal around here recently even with the AC blasting away) but I just haven't been feeling up to snuff.

Sounds like you need a break to recharge the batteries; hope you feel better soon. :techman:

Mind you, I bought a takeout meal tonight too though, from a pretty good Lebanese place. Good food, and feeling nicely full now.

Some goodies at Nationals Park last night- Mardi Gras-style beads in Nats colors, and some ice cream served in a mini Nats cap. Shouldn't have had that much ice cream, but I had to have that cap!
