Your latest purchases, cont.

^ Now THERE'S A THOUGHT!!

I picked myself up a little something from Coldwater Creek; they're having a 40% off & free shipping sale. I decided to be bold and NOT buy something blue, teal or even turquoise. I picked up this:

^Very cool! *So jealous* I would never be able to convince hubby to get that. But I love the lights, and the fact that the keyboard is quiet. My keyboard and mouse and pretty cheap, so they're kind of loud; it sounds like I'm using a typewriter.

I got some recorders, flute, and some other musical instruments with instruction books so I can teach myself. The recorder is coming along nicely. I also got a couple of cuddle cups for my guinea pigs to enjoy. :D

I picked up some ties on sale last week. Combining the sale with a preferred customer bonus offer, I ended up getting 6 for the price of 2. Merry Christmas to me.

Because I know that Holdfast will ask:

I wound up buying Community: Season 2 the other day because I'd ordered it online as a gift for a friend but was worried it wouldn't arrive in time for our group's annual holiday party on Saturday... and it arrived in the mail about five minutes after I got home from buying copy #2. Oh well.

I picked up a couple boxes of See's Candies for my mother - she loves them - as well as a few last minute gifts for my sister and her fiance. Definitely looking forward to seeing the family for the holiday!

The postman just brought me this

Sorry about the crappiness of the photo, I used my cheapo camera rather than go into the other room and retrieve my good camera.

The Complete Calvin and Hobbes. A Christmas present to myself. Three large, hardbook volumes in a cover. 1456 pages. The set weights 10.2 kg. I bought it on Amazon UK for 43 pounds which is around $78 AUS (price has now risen to now 50 pounds). I got free postage. The set is listed on the US Amazon for $91.77 so I think I got them for a very good price.

Now I am going to wrap them and put them under the tree and act surprised when I open them on Xmas morning :) I plan to spend some of Christmas Day reading them.

Your mom has good taste; I love See's, too!
I picked up a box of their rectangle lollies under the pretense that I'm going to share them with the nieces and nephew.

1 - Nice in itself, though I have a somewhat similar one and find it surprisingly had to work into an outfit without it overwhelming everything else. Bright red ties are quite tricky items; I find it's often easier to wear them to smart dinners or outside meetings, rather than in day to day work.

2 - I like. Good to use in more casual/odd-jacket combos too. Burnt orange is such a warm colour.

3 - Nice for spring/summer. Would be great with a linen jacket or suit I think.

4 - Not personally keen on, but probably versatile with both a wide range of greys and blue.

5 - Will be nice against either navy or charcoal grey suits.

6 - Assuming the background is a kind of mahogany/maroony sort of colour, I think this is my favourite. Conservative, versatile and professional. I can see it working with some more casual variants too.

The postman brought me my new wifi printer yesterday. Now I can print from my iPad if I want to.
