Your latest purchases, cont.

I received as a gift a new Pandora bracelet, since my leather one gave way after being worn every day for more than a year.

I've already moved my beads to it and been wearing it for a couple of days. It's great not to worry about splashing it when I wash my hands or having to take it off when I shower and so on.

Been kind of obsessed with Amazon's Black Friday Week promotion recently. Link

As someone who collects Blu-rays and DVDs this is almost like a sporting event. @_@

I've spent like $150 so far but I've gotten some great deals.

- A good meal at one of the local Michelin-starred restaurants yesterday (put that one on the company tab as our Christmas dinner, so at the eventual cost to me once the accounts are done will be heavily discounted).
- A cashmere scarf from Johnstons which is just super-soft and warm. I don't really need more scarves, but it was just too pretty, and too discounted, to resist.
- Using a similar justification, some more equity purchases. Valuations continue to look attractive on a medium-to-long term investment basis. One day the crisis will be over, after all! Well, either that or the entire modern world will end, and then we're all screwed anyway! :D

Walnuts
Almonds
Ginger root
Black cherry soda
Diet Dr. Pepper
Some tiny plush toys for my nieces Christmas presents
Some yellow lilies for the centerpiece tomorrow
Some croissants for breakfast (OK, I had to "test" two to make sure they were good )

Today I paid for a farewell lunch for my son at our local pub. 11 adults and two children attended. My son is leaving Hobart on Monday to go and live in Brisbane. Total cost of the meals was $352. I had scallops, one of my sons had chicken schnitzel and the other son had barrimundi.

Here is a photo of the recliner that I mentioned buying a few days ago.

Normally I cover it with a comforter so it doesn't get cover with cat hair.

A delicious bag of Roast Chestnuts!

Haven't had them in years, but couldn't resist the smell of them roasting away today. I normally avoid going into the city at weekends as it's just too busy, but I needed to pop in briefly (didn't have time during the week to go the tailor for a fitting) and the chestnuts went a long way to mitigating the hassle of dealing with the crowds. Turned out the fellow selling them is usually based in London. Apparently the going rate for hot chestnuts there is three times what he was selling them for here (quid a bag); probably says more about the cost of having a street stall permit in London than anything else. Perhaps more surprisingly, it pleases me that there's enough trade to support his niche business.

Ordered a second Roku today. My parents bought a new TV, even though they really didn't need one, so they gave me their old one, even though I didn't really need one, so my old one migrated to my bedroom, and since I don't have cable, and didn't want to be tied to ONLY DVD's in the bedroom, another Roku was in order. ;)
