There is a setting in the ICE you need to change. I dunno about the yank Volvo's but ours have specific settings. Generic MP3 or iPod. Unless you set it for iPod it'll just give you an error message. It'll recognize it as a portable unit, but it wont be able to access anything on it.
EDIT: If its a iPod Touch, the software might be incompatible. iOS 4.2 is the newest that works. (2009 Volvo S80)
