How much did you make today?

It was a fucking rollercoaster of a ride, that's for sure!

Up & down like a yo-yo, with multi-hundred point swings in the overall indices happening in minutes, and greater percentage swings in my own picks. It didn't help that I've been at home most of the day, so have been hitting refresh on stock quotes more often than is healthy...

However, in the end, things turned upwards. :)

I bought UK stocks rather than US ones, so due to the time-difference, only caught about half the upside that the US got by the end of your trading time. However, fingers crossed, the knock-on effect of the Dow's late surge once the initial selling on the FOMC statement wore off (selling by a lot of idiots who thought QE3 was going to be on the cards today; as if) should carry through overnight via the Nikkei to the FTSE - and my shares - tomorrow morning.

Fingers crossed, anyway... gotta love the ride, either way, don't you? :D

In the medium term, even if I haven't picked the absolute bottom of the market and things go on to drop a bit further in the short-term, the stocks I picked yesterday should have significanlty more upside than downside over that medium term. Everything is cheap. Markets discounted a fairly significant recession at yesterday's closing prices; they're still discounting a mild one at today's closing prices. Even if you think we'll just stagnate economically rather than an actual recession, there's lots of value out there assuming you're willing to hold for a while and ride out any further short-term storms.

jeez. And yet another final director's cut, it has it all edition of Blade Runner! I bought the last one they put out. I refuse to buy this one! I REFUSE do you hear me people???

Do you have the suitcase from 2007 with all five versions? That's what I have. Three years ago, I spent a week watching all five over a five night period, and got so sick of it that I haven't taken it off the shelf since. Although, I was thinking about watching just the original theatrical version again.

A bit of a bounce around on the trampoline and a few table games at Trocadero (unfortunately the upper floors were all closed due to the recent trouble)
An art case with water colours, pencils, crayons and the works
Sunglasses
(We wanted a Swatch watch but the shop closed before we got there)
Lunch at Nando's
Two scoops of Haagen Dazs on a cone on the way home

My little sisters birthday. Very nice and relaxing day.
