Your latest purchases, cont.

Oooh. Loved them all. Miffed about having to buy music so many times! Bought it in the 80s on cassette tape and again in the 90s on discs and again from iTunes. Can’t wait for the chip in my brain to just download into my head. Of course I’ll fill it with music, cat related content and pop culture instead of all the accumulated knowledge of the worlds of art and science and literature lol.

A new Funko pop arrived for me today. RIKER. I did not buy him because he is a Star Trek pop but because I love the the Bobiverse books.

In these books, Bob Johansson, a software engineer and nerd, is killed but not before he had sign a contract to have his head cryogenically preserved. He wakes up more than 100 years later to find out he no longer has any rights and his consciousness get place in a space probe. As war breaks out he is launch into space and he begins to explore. He can create copies of himself and through he keeps his Bob name his copies select names for themselves. As they are copies of Bobs, they all have similar personality to Bob they tend to pick names from pop culture. Hence here are the ‘Bob pops’ have so far

Admiral Ackbar is not a Bob. Bob 1 programs the GUPPI (or General Unit Primary Peripheral Interface, semi-sentient software) to look like Ackbar.

That sounds like a fun series and a pretty meta crossover type of thing. May have to investigate. Kind of like Multiple Man from the X -Men. He makes multiples of himself and send them out into the world to learn stuff and when he reabsorbs them he knows what they know. Unfortunately if they die he feels it and they all have his face too.

I have not owned a dryer since my children were out of cloth nappies (diapers) more than 30 years ago. If it is raining I dry my clothes under my carport.

I spent $42 worth of groceries as a top up to me until do an online order later in the week.

I love the smell of clothes hung on the line. At my latitude it’s not at all practical unfortunately. It’s at or below freezing four months out of the year.

Plus, we all know that it costs literally (no exaggeration) about a quarter to manufacture an inkjet cartridge that they later sell for $60. I'm surprised more is not being done about that scam. I will still use my printer of course, but not NEARLY as much because I also reduced the size and complexity of my receipts and may use the label maker for those too
