Well, no. We remember the good things but don't tend to remember the bad. Like the time my VCR ate my copy of Star Trek III. Or that tapes would wear out, bad spots would creep in.

I've yet to have any of those things happen to my DVD's or Blu-ray's.

I'll gladly take my Star Trek in 1080p any day of the week over the old days of VHS/Betamax. It doesn't mean those formats don't hold a special place in my heart, because they do. But I'm not going to live my life in the 1980's.

Man, I wish to God I could. With one exception, everything in my life (including my health) was alot better back then.

I just paid $1.19 a gallon for gas. We earn bonus points at our supermarket and collected enough to earn $1.40 off a gallon of gas. So I ran down the Odyssey to almost empty and filled her up with 20 gallons. Total cost $24.00, which is a quarter of what it normally cost to fill her up.

I won't tell you I paid $1.87 a gallon yesterday to fill up, it's been below $2 for almost a month here.

Not counting the usual groceries and cigarettes, ordered a Diamond Select TOS Phaser through Amazon thanks to a nameless benefactor from here, which arrived on 31 December. Unfortunately, no working camera to show it, but we all know what they look like.

Ordered a Danbury Mint card case and cards for their Princess Diana vinyl doll. The cards go with the clothes and tell when Princess Diana wore the outfits and such. I have most of the outfits, so I came across a good deal on the cards and snatched them up.

Dinner at Max's Wine Dive--even though I don't drink. Not sure why my friends brought me there, but what the hell---the chicken was awesome. But the only non-alcoholic drink they had to offer was sparkling water.
