Your latest purchases, cont.

Boat winterization, shrink wrap, and storage.

^that must've set you back a pretty penny.

Lunch for the two of us, at a Kublai Khan Stir-Fry.

Not too bad, but we budget for it. We'll start saving now for the spring launch, sealing the bottom of the boat, docking fees, and power for 2015.

Latest purchase: 4 jars of Extra Creamy Kraft peanut butter. It was on sale, and I love the stuff. I eat it every day.

I bought the final season of Star Wars Clone Wars on blu-ray and also bought the big enchilada on blu-ray aka Batman. I had to go to 3 Best Buys to get it but I got it. It cost me 190 bucks and change but I used my 40$ gift card I got on my birthday last week to pay for Clone Wars so the total would've been higher.

Same here, only mine were the DVD versions, and twenty dollars cheaper than yours.

And of a lesser picture and audio quality.

I am weak. I went out late afternoon, thinking I was going to buy ice cream. But when I walked up to the corner, I went to the used video store instead and bought director's editions of ST:TMP and ST:TWOK instead, along with a copy of Humphrey Bogart's The Big Sleep. My old prerecorded tapes of those Trek movies were stolen 20 years ago, and I've finally replaced them. I have Big Sleep on VHS, but I mostly watch dvd now. The pint of ice cream would have cost less, but it would be gone by now.

Meh. I'm happy with them.

What else matters?

With that argument, nothing, however I can't understand the reluctance for some people to switch over to Blu-ray. While I would argue that it takes a keen eye - or certainly better eyesight than I have - to see a big difference between HD Blu-ray and 4K, the difference in picture quality between Blu-ray and SD is substantial - especially when it comes to animation.

Obviously a person buying Blu-ray's is happy with them. So why even point out that they paid more? What's the point?
Well, it's like when people were telling me I should switch to Blu-Ray. When all I have is old tube type television sets, there's not much point in it since they can't display the higher resolution.

The point was I was simply making a comment. Nothing more, nothing less. No sinister motive behind it.

Geez, people have forgotten how to take some things at face value.

I just don't see the point of pointing out DVD's are cheaper without also acknowledging one is getting an inferior product?
