I bought Rebecca (full size) a couple months ago. I'm so glad I didn't wait, because I don't like the new outfits on the historical dolls. Rebecca's new accessories don't even have anything to do with her story.
I'm not planning to collect AG, but I will eventually get one more. I want a My American Girl who resembles Rebecca, to be her great-granddaughter.
Yeah, I'm not overly thrilled with the re-designs, but for the little dolls it's okay. I'm mostly mad that they dumped Ivy.
The three mini Julies- old on the left, new in the middle, holiday (limited edition) on the right.
The faces on the new dolls seem to be narrower.

They look good. My mom always loved the American Girl dolls and I'm sure she'd be very interested in seeing the newest ones, however extensively they've been redesigned.

Nope. I have most of the big ones, too. I've been collecting for almost 20 years. I have all the historical dolls except Kaya, Caroline, Marie-Grace, Rebecca, and Ruthie. My favorites are Julie and Ivy, Felicity, Samantha, and Josephina. I love them all, but those five are the ones I love the most!
