Your latest purchases, cont.

Ordered a new La-Z-Boy to replace the rocker recliner that is literally falling apart. Also switched insurance companies on my car. Better company at a much cheaper price.

We have a La Z Boy couch, where the end seats recline, and a big recliner for hubby. They may not be the most attractive things, but they are SO freakin' comfortable. La Z Boy was the only place where we could find a recliner that was tall enough for hubby. We just love the La Z Boy furniture.

Just bought a new Nook Simple Touch to replace my Sony PRS-300 that started malfunctioning this week. It'll be charged and ready to use in about 15 minutes.

I finally bought myself a pair of TOMS. I can't find a pic, but they're red, black, and white houndstooth pattern. I love them.

I scored with used books over the weekend - particularly...

I bought a pristine hardback of the third Harry Potter novel for $.50

I found all but one of the 6 books in The Secret of the Unicorn Queen series. I read it in junior high and have been looking for the books for years as an adult. They had such short print runs that they're very hard to find, and used copies can command pretty hefty prices. I have them all now, with a couple spares because I couldn't NOT buy the ones I already had, since they're so rare. My only goal now is to replace my copies of 2 (missing the first few pages) and 3 (stamped all over the inside covers by a child too eager to mark her territory). But I have them ALL now. :D OH, and as the store was having a buy 2 get 1 free sale, I got them all for FREE.

I LOVE trawling used bookstores. Just when you give up hope of ever finding that obscure book, wham, there it is smiling at you. :adore:

It came in on Saturday and I assembled it Sat night (LaZBoy recliners come in two pieces). I unintentionally slept in it half the night on Saturday.

Hit up Loro Piana for some summery stuff:

- White linen short sleeve shirt
- Navy cotton trousers
- Off-white/cream cotton-linen trousers

Spent more than I intended, but what with a couple of shirts and other trousers already on order from elsewhere, I think I'm now done at least until autumn. :)

Nice!

All I've bought lately is groceries and gas.

Two pairs of jeans, a bunch of stuffed animals for my wife's collection, a hardback book on child psychology, and a grab bag of books and magazines that included a first edition of Louis L'amour's 'The Haunted Mesa' and a paperback of 'Sign Talker' by James Alexander Thom.

Total for everything: $5.42

Thrift stores are really great.

Front left fender for my car. The previous owner couldn't straighten metal for shit. Its a miracle the paint stuck to it.

I popped on the refurbed Kindle fire today - Amazon gold box deal today for $139. I'm doing my best to be good and save the majority of my tax refund, but I couldn't resist this one splurge. Even though it's a refurb, they're still giving the year warranty, so I'm excited. :D
