Your latest purchases, cont.

Babylon 5. All of the seasons except for S2, which Best Buy didn't have. Now i gotta find that one season.

They've got them on sale right now, don't they? I thought I saw them there for $19.99 the other day, which is what made me buy them a couple years ago.

You might be able to get a raincheck on the sale price.

I bought one of those things (don't know the anglo name for them: please help me with that!) that you install above where you do your cooking; they, then, suck up all the vapours! cost me 999 Kr (~183 US$).
In Australia they are called a rangehood. I am not sure what they are called in the rest of the English speaking world.

Vent, though range hood is used too.

Thanks - I don't think I've ever heard that before  (well, I know what a vent is just not that the word would also include a motorised sucking device with built in lights).

ETA: looked up "kitchen" on Wikipedia and found a link to an article on the thing:

Name

The device is known as an extractor hood (in the UK) and as range hood (in the United States) or rangehood (in Australia). It is also called a kitchen, stove, exhaust, cooker, vent or ventilation hood. Other names include cooking canopy, extractor fan, fume extractor, and electric chimney.

ETA²: "LUFTIG BF325"

I gave in and pre-ordered the Six Million Dollar Man complete series DVD set from TimeLife today. Early Christmas present for myself.

Now I just have to occupy my time during the annoying wait for the mailman to bring it.

When it arrives, you better damn well run in slo-motion to collect it.

... nanananananananana....

Well I can't run, but I WILL ride my wheelchair in slow motion to the maibox. Making that sound all the way of course.;)

If it would just get here...The waiting is STILL annoying! November 29 can't get here fast enough!

i got a new hat. an Empire Strikes Back t-shirt. DC Kamandi action figure. The Book Thief and some Skittles.

$5 Walmart movie. I got it mostly because it was only $5, partly because it has a picture of my home town getting blown up on the front, and just a little bit because I think 2012-related stuff is interesting. I'm about to watch it now, so I guess I'll find out shortly just how bad (or good) it is. When it comes to $5 movies, I tend to have low expectations.

That will do nicely; you've already been cybernetically enhanced. :D

Bought myself a 17 year old Raleigh Activator II. Large frame. Shimano 21 gears. Bar ends. All terrain tires. In gunmetal grey. Great for getting from A to B fast and cheap, and all without being fancy enough to attract thieves (a good bike apparently doesn't last long around here). Reminds me of whizzing around on my Lizard as a child, riding just for the sheer joy of it.

A couple of days ago I bought a JANSJÖ lamp from IKEA (to use as a desk lamp), I was so impressed with it (amazing how much good light can come from a 3W lamp at only 13 US$) that I went and got another for reading in bed yesterday.

ETA: They also come in pink, red and black.

I got this brand new Verbatim BlackSea today, the first 1Tb 2.5" USB 3.0 external HDD I ever saw:

The world is mine!

Yesterday I bought some plants to grow in my garden - two tomato plants, leeks and chinese cabbages. I have already planted spring onions, spinach, broccoli and lettuces.

I just picked up my new eyeglasses. Rimless, purple wire frames. :mallory:

I bought a 27" iMac...

I love my 24" iMac, but 27"... Enjoy!

Yes, they're very impressive little guys. I saw them recently and wished I had an excuse to buy one.
