Your annual vacation/holidays

It depends on which beers. There is a great variety. Doppelbock commonly has about 8% to 10% ABV; sometimes even higher. On the other hand, there are plenty of American craft beers in that range. Oktoberfest seasonal "Marzen" beer in Germany is typically around 6%. Kolsch, Helles, and Schwarzbier are around 5%.

It's interesting how well-known Oktoberfest is so far away in America. When I was talking to some friends from Switzerland, they were unfamiliar with it.

We have an annual party in Erlangen, too. It is called Bergkirchweih. Everyone wears Dirndl and Leather pants. I don't go there because there are too many drunk people. This year was quite bad. I've never seen so many drunk people around when I was in town later in the evening. At least I would never go there alone as a girl or woman. Some girls report sexual assaults. As to alcoholic beverages: it is like Mallorca, Ballermann, and not really my cup of tea......

When I used to go on vacations I'd sometimes go up to the mountains in Northeast Georgia. There is a small town (tourist trap) named Helen that is modeled after an Alpine village. They have a pretty big Oktoberfest but I was never there at that time of year.

I remember going to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA and one of the countries was Germany and I always loved going to the Festhaus and sitting at the long tables eating sauerkraut listening to the German music and watching the German dancers. I REALLY need to go back since I'm old enough to drink.

Also, across from Cincinnati in Newport, KY they usually have an Oktoberfest celebration (although I can never remember to take off work for until it's too late :( )

the forecast for Munich predicts warm weather for the next 2 days. In the night from Friday to Saturday there might be a bit of rain and Saturday will get uncomfortably cold (but dry). From Sunday on it'll get warmer again but not as warm as tomorrow.
Hence, I'd recommend you'd go to the Oktoberfest on Thursday. (plus: the weekends are usually badly crowded). If you stay longer, go on Tuesday. That's family day and most rides will be cheaper. Also, there'll be less drunks.

Possibly going to Vegas in may to see my friends elope and go to Punk Rock Bowling.

I need to get some serious prescriptions from my doctor that will keep me asleep for 6 hours.

I wish they would let me take an anxiety pill with a sleeping pill but apparently they usually interact badly. I want to be totally knocked out.

Edit: For the plane!

For the wedding or the bowling?
