"Yorktown: A Time to Heal" - Official thread for the Sulu fan film!

Re: "Yorktown: A Time to Heal" - Official thread for the Sulu fan film

Status Update!

Just getting back to Toronto from my 2 week stay in LA. Met with Stan Woo, and received all of the original footage needed to begin editing the film. A 2nd trailer will be cut this month using the cleaned up materials. Still a fair bit of work to do before we post the film, but realistically, it looks like it will be done in the next 12 to 16 months.

A 3rd Klingon scene is being filmed this November in Vancouver. The short scenes that take place on the Yorktown bridge (at the beginning and end of the film) still need to be filmed to complete the movie, and there is still discussion as to whether this will be done using green screen, or a pre-existing bridge set. Some of the ADR in the film for the secondary characters needs to be re-recorded, and we may need to use new actors in order to get that done.

That looks a lot like a Sandman gun in that last screengrab.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am going to need some voice actors to redub some of the actors in the film. If anyone is interested in this, send me a PM.

My wife can do it, if you want it in a French-Canadian accent. She also has a ton of dubbing experience, but in French... :P

John, I have a whole acting class full of talented people. Want me to see if anyone from that wants to audition?

And if that doesn't work out, we have plenty of qualified and talented voice actors over at Darker Projects; I can think of four actors on our roster already who would do excellent work for you. If not, no worries, but the offer is there.

I will get those auditions to you next week. I *promise*. :)

John, email me the specifics of what you need, contact info, etc and I will distribute in class tomorrow. There are some 20 young ladies in the class and I am sure many of them would be interested.

Just started adding some of the new ADR to the film. Happy with the results so far. I'm leaving the window open to record till Dec 20th, for anyone who wants to contribute their voice. Still a few characters that need some redubbing.

Also, if anyone out there is good with audio, drop me a line. There are a few voices from the original print that I would like to preserve in the film, if I can get them to sound right. Send me a PM if you have the skills (or know someone who does) to help out with this.
