It's fantastic. Not normally my cup of tea either, but I stumbled across a lot of talk about it last year and me and my wife got hooked. Enjoying Season 2 so far. Misty (played by both actresses) is an absolute creation of a character. Great show! Glad there's a thread for it.
Yes it was an odd episode. How did Shauna know where the car was? Wondering if they will eat the dead birds. I think Natalie is still at the purple cult because she can't get to the train station? Though I thought that was just at night.. and she's not one to let a little thing like no trains stop her from hiking and hitching her way out. The fact that MIsty didn't know about Lotte's purple cult is weird. How hidden is this cult? Is it so unknown that they were totally cool about wearing their uniform while committing a kidnapping?
Also I just realized that the baby is due soon which means there's an entire nine more months of this hell for these people. The slow burn of their descent has been very well done. I feel stressed out thinking about this poor baby and what kind of world he is coming into. I hope he doesn't have terrifying black eyes or anything
I thought she was tracking her phone which she'd left in the van? Shauna is rapidly becoming the scariest person in the show. I think she really did want to kill that guy. Ricci and Wood make for a heck of a dynamic duo! Ben seemed to have retreated to an alternate reality in his head where he didn't take the plane. I can't see this ending well. Was that a moose that attacked Natalie? (was it real or not?) All the eyeless man stuff remains creepy, even when you don't actually see him! Are the eyeless man and the symbol connected? Taissa seems to have brought the eyeless man with her while the symbol appears to be indigenous to the wilderness but that doesn't mean they're not connected in some way. The moment Van asked who Taissa was and she said nothing was unsettling to say the least. Natalie remains the character I feel most sorry for. The one with her head screwed on tightest in the past so it's sad to imagine she's the one that really falls apart when they get home. The girl who died/was eaten right at the start was white btw (I rewatched those scenes just last week.)
OH YEAH I agree!! I love the actor too. She really does the housewife thing well which makes her even more terrifying. I feel like he's suffering because he hasn't entered everyone else's reality where they have a feeding frenzy and some don't even remember it. Yeah, I thought maybe this has something to do with Javi. Who is out there somewhere.. eyeless person is totally terrifying. Since this is a tv show I think everything will be connected Maybe paying a price for not buying into things in some way. Okay, that's a big clue then. Maybe it will be Vanessa. Does anyone know if this is the final season?
Small wonder. Ang Lee inspired them by having them watch THE GREEN HORNET on TV in a 1997 movie. Then it got a bit.....Presidential, before Kevin Kline broke it up.
I thought the third episode maybe jumped around a bit too much. The flashbacks and the present day stuff didn't really flow together, and I find the present day stuff more fun when the four main characters are together. Still pretty good though. I'm expecting them to find Ben dead in his room at the start of the next episode.
I felt depressed about Ben watching this. He is clearly going to die because he hasn't been infected by whatever evil keeps everyone else alive.
Laura Lee didn't take part in the seance, died shortly after. Jackie didn't take part in the mushroom party, died shortly after. Ben didn't take part in the Jackie feast...
I think you're onto something. Of course it seemed pretty obvious to me that Ben was gonna die at some point, as the only quasi-authority figure to even realistically oppose the nuttiness. But it's tense waiting to see how it will happen.
That was a good one. I was pleasantly shocked at the reveal of who survived ! Bet she's not exactly happy to see T
Van...did not expect to see her. That frozen moose scene.... They were so close! Shauna telling her daughter the truth...that's just stoopid. Never give a teenager leverage. I still don't quite understand what Natalie is doing.
I think it demonstrates how disconnected from reality Shauna is. She acts like she's decided not to keep some misdemeanor she was convicted of 15 years ago a secret any more. It feels like whatever happened in the woods was so terrible that killing some dude because of mistaken identity isn't really a big deal. Yeah, grand plan or ..? just enjoying messing with people?
Her bonding with the fork girl and skipping the market to go drinking...maybe she's trying to disrupt the whole thing? She's definitely trying to get into Lottie's secret cabinet. So I don't think Natalie drank the kool-aid, I think she has a longer game in mind, but it's revealing itself slowly.
She's definitely not bored. I feel like she's still poking at the whole set up with a stick to see what happens. And now that she has the keys! She's got direction.
Yellowjackets is known for its grimmer elements, but I found the most recent episode—Old Wounds—a nice change of pace, specifically all the bonding moments (young Nat & Lottie in the cabin after their ordeals, Shauna/Jeff/Callie in the kitchen, adult Nat and Lisa venturing away from the compound to visit Lisa's home, even Misty & Walter's road trip). Great to finally see adult Van, too. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the new version of the theme sung by Alanis Morissette at the start of the ep—it fits in perfectly with the 90s music vibe of the show.
