JANEWAY: Same space, different configuration, exactly as Chakotay said. The Imperium appears to have been reduced to a few planets and a smattering of vessels. It appears that someone, or something has altered history. But why weren't we affected?

JANEWAY: So the question remains. What caused that shock wave in the first place? See if you can track it back to its origin.

JANEWAY: I'm no authority on time travel, in fact I've made it my goal in life to avoid it, but this sounds to me like a causality paradox. Think about it. The temporal shock wave eliminates a single species and all of history changes as a result.

SEVEN: An intriguing theory. Perhaps the Krenim are responsible. They do possess temporal technology.
