So the first point doesn't even depend on the type of disc drive? I think mine's got the BenQ.

I'm not sure; there are tons of websites out there with sometimes contradictory information. My kids managed to scratch a copy of CoD 2 when they moved the 360 when it was running. We have been careful and haven't seen a scratch since. I'm also not sure I have the same disc drive since that unit when in for maintenance I marked it off for disc drive noise. It’s been quiet since it’s been back.
