This one isn't as good as the best movie in the series, but it was still enjoyable.
Apocalypse was a pretty cool villain, he didn't have the deepest story or anything, but Oscar Isaac did a good job and we got some cool visual effects out of him.
Almost all of the characters got some good stuff to do in this one. I was worried that the new characters would overshadow the returning cast members, but I thought they did a pretty good job of giving everyone an interesting story. Beast was probably the one returning character who didn't get a lot of story, but I still thought he got some nice scenes.Magneto got a pretty interesting story again this time, and it gave us a great performance from Michael Fassbender. I was pretty happy with what we got for Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique too. At this point I really don't see her ending up as the character we saw in the first three movies though, she's too fully embraced her role of a heroic X-Man. It was fun seeing McAvoy playing a more traditional Xavier this time.
I think Cyclops got more development here than he did in the entire first three movies. There were some nice moments between him and Jean Grey here that showed the beginnings of their relationship. I really liked the setup we got for Jean's future as Phoenix.
Quicksilver once again got the coolest action scene in the movie. I was a little disappointed he didn't tell Magneto he was his son though.
Wolverine's small part was pretty cool, although I do think it would have been better if it hadn't been revealed in the trailer.
I was really disappointed in Angel and Pyslocke, after so much promotion based around them, especially Psylocke, they didn't really do much. We didn't get a ton of stuff with Storm either, but what we did get was good.
The overall story was pretty good too. Apocalypse's end of the world plot wasn't anything revolutionary, but I still enjoyed the way all of the stuff around it played out. The action sequences were great, I'm glad the last few movies have really started to embrace all of the different characters powers.
