X-Men: Apocalypse announced for May 2016

I wonder if they'll somehow feature Rama-Tut at all if they explore more of the ancient Egypt angle, maybe as a name-drop. Then again, it's one of those gray areas a bit, since although Rama-Tut first appeared in Fantastic Four which belongs to Fox, the character-AKA Kang/Immortus/Iron Lad/Nathaniel Richards etc.-is also a major Avengers villain. Of course there's also the old continuity where he was possibly Doctor Doom too...

Perhaps more plausible is Mr. Sinister, whose origin-revealed in the 90s-was that he was changed by Apocalypse into his form.

Slightly off topic - anyone know if the Rogue Cut of DOFP changes the continuity at all for Apocalypse ?

Well, Rogue only appears in the "present/future" portions of DOFP rather than the historical portions, and Apocalypse is apparently set in 1983 and focuses entirely on the younger cast. So I doubt the Rogue Cut will have any effect.

Oh, and it comes out May 27, 2016.
Is that a typo or is it really coming out in 2016?

^ He meant the Rogue Cut blu-ray, I believe, which has been promised for some undefined date this summer.

True.

I read May 27 without registering the 2016 and took that as the 'Rogue Cut' release date for 2015.

Anyone got a date for it ?

Are people really going to pay more money for the Rogue Cut? The character stopped being relevant after the first movie! :p

Who says it's more money?
I didn't get the first version, many of us are quite able to avoid the double dips they keep trying to get us to fall for.

I wonder if a large part of movie Rogue's fanbase is because she is hot.

In that case, Anna Paquin is way better on True Blood where she reveals more skin and doesn't have all her screentime stolen by Hugh Jackman. ;)

I'll buy it again. I'm into the films and am interested in how different it will be and the all new extras.

Double dipping really annoys me when you get the same film with different bonus discs or extras (i.e. STID), but this is O.K. by me...

I plan on buying "The Rogue Cut". I just liked DOFP that much. However the only films I've doubled dipped with are the LOTR films. Theatrical and Extended. However, I have no intention to buy the extended Hobbit movies.

I'll be buying it. Sounds like Magneto gets to take part in a little more action this time, and the Rogue subplot helps fix a gaping whole in the story of the theatrical cut.

Well, for me, it's just because I like the character of Rogue and felt such an important X-Men character shouldn't have been abandoned.

I haven't bought the movie yet, so the Rogue Cut would probably be just as good as any - particularly if they include both versions.

What hole would that be?
In the theatrical cut, Mystique's DNA is supposedly the reason that Sentinels can copy other mutant powers. Except Mystique can't copy powers, she can only mimic appearance. In the alternate cut, Rogue is the reason that the "scary future" Sentinels can duplicate powers.

The other plot hole is how Kitty is able to maintain her temporal mind meld with Wolverine for days on end without taking a break for eating, sleeping, or other bodily needs. Having Rogue around to borrow Kitty's powers and spell her is the only way to make sense of it.

As I understand it, Rogue is only brought in when Kitty is dying from Logan's mid-movie freakout, so that wouldn't address that.
