I'm easy. If it has Star Trek in the title, I will watch it. And even if not (see: Enterprise).

This is a very accurate and concise description of STD.

Depends on its target audience. If for teens and adults, probably. But if geared towards children and teens, then probably not.

No way. The characters on the Shenzhou had absolutely no appeal. Burnham was dry, the Captain Georgiou was wooden, Saru was a flake, etc... I can't see how they could carry an entire series, animated or not.

2 out of 3 of those need to carry DSC. (With the addition of Captain Space Hemorrhoids of course).

I agree. I think they almost nailed the classic TOS style triumvirate with 2 opposing voices seeking to influence the captain without being a "logic vs. emotion" exact rip off.

I don't see a series in that setup. The current showrunners didn't seem to either.

Animated series are for lackeys. Live action is for kings.

I have a 4 month old daughter. If its geared to kids, we would read/watch every single episode together as soon as she's allowed to watch TV or enjoy a comic book. If it's geared to adults, I'd read/watch it, hopefully with her mom.

I would like to add to my list of things I would consume: I would buy a RPG or Adventure game set on Shenzou.

Hell yeah! I've wanted anew TAS ever since the TNG days. There was an animated show that was pitched a few years back that sounded cool, but it wasn't picked up.

I don't know about an animated series.

But maybe a live action mini-series of the Shenzhou doing an important mission, maybe 2-3 episodes long. Maybe even loosely tie it into the main plot of a season of Discovery. Like the pilot episodes but with less explosions and ultimate failure.
