Well, the presidency itself aside, I certainly wouldn't wish the rigors and indignities of a modern presidential campaign on an individual without a stable and supportive life partner.
Same goes for the everyday stresses of the office also, I suppose.

I read in a news paper recently that middle age starts around 45 now because people are living longer and continuing to have children in their 40s.
If we did it before, we can do it again.
With an unmarried (and presumably childless) president, I can imagine outcry that he can't relate to American families and their problems and concerns, he wouldn't know about their struggles.
I'm don't really have any opinions on these questions, I just think these are subjects that would appear in the media regarding a bachelor candidate/president.
