Huh what? I don't use the term SJW, it's a deeply offensive term used by the alt-right, and they represent everything I stand against. Is that in quotations because it's a codeword for SJW?

If I am mistaken, I apologize. I often see "(un)earned" paired with SJW.Huh what? I don't use the term SJW, it's a deeply offensive term used by the alt-right, and they represent everything I stand against.
Ok, apology accepted. If I am mistaken, I apologize. I often see "(un)earned" paired with SJW.
agreed, it's usually a dog whistle in some kinds of 'fan' circlesIf I am mistaken, I apologize. I often see "(un)earned" paired with SJW.
I honestly had no idea, those type of alt-right circles I stay far away from.agreed, it's usually a dog whistle in some kinds of 'fan' circles
I believe you, and I might be developing an itchy trigger finger.I honestly had no idea, those type of alt-right circles I stay far away from.
Nicknames aren't about brevity. People at work call me "Mikey". It has the same amount of syllables as Michael.JL sounds weird. It just has no good ring to it and it also makes as an abbreviation no sense. Saying Jean-Luc takes just as much time as those two letters. If they wanted a nickname for Picard why not just Jean, Luc or J? At least it would be shorter and all options have a better sound than JL in my opinion.
Going by the reaction to Patrick's French lines they should steer clear of French dialogue unless they grab native speakers. Sometimes I wonder in an alternate universe how Rene Auberjonois, for example, would have been as a French speaking Picard.I'd get a kick out of it if she would use the French pronunciation of J and L. Some fans would be totally confused.![]()
Are we talking late 90s/early 00s Vincent Cassel or current Vincent Cassel? How much does Vincent Cassel cost? :P

In that case, he'd be much cheaper to get than 10-20 years ago. And, after eight episodes of Westworld, probably not totally against appearing in a Sci Fi TV show.Since time travel hasn't been invented I guess the current version will do.![]()
Sorry, it will have a French accent (or whatever passes for a French accent with Patrick Stewart on the cast).I now want to hear his Swedish accent.
Yeah, I've seen so many people complain about how "unrealistic" "JL" is as a nickname because it's not really "shorter" than Jean-Luc syllable-wise, and make weirdly specific claims like that in Germany nicknames are only given to shorten names six syllables or longer (which proves nothing but that that person apparently doesn't know what syllables are).Nicknames aren't about brevity. Raffi calling him JL is a shortcut to show us that they had a close relationship and she wasn't just a random officer working under him, it's neither a big deal nor out of character for Picard.
It's not even true, I'm german, one of my friend's name is Kim, his nickname is Kimba.Yeah, I've seen so many people complain about how "unrealistic" "JL" is as a nickname because it's not really "shorter" than Jean-Luc syllable-wise, and make weirdly specific claims like that in Germany nicknames are only given to shorten names six syllables or longer (which proves nothing but that that person apparently doesn't know what syllables are).
